The CW released its 2011-2012 schedule today (view it here) and Ringer, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, will be airing on Tuesday nights at 9:00 p.m.
Gellar plays a woman named Bridget (now six months sober) who goes on the run after witnessing a murder and decides to assume the life of her rich identical twin sister in order to remain safe. Heading to New York, she reunites with her sister, Siobhan, who lives what seems like a perfect life with her husband Andrew Martin. But things soon turn mysterious when Siobhan disappears and Bridget decides to assume her identity. Then she learns that her sister's "perfect" life isn't so perfect. There are secrets about Siobhan's marriage and her best friend Gemma, and Gemma's husband Henry. After someone attempts to kill Bridget, thinking she's Siobhan, Bridget realizes she's no safer in her sister's life as she was before.
Other stars include: Kristoffer Polaha as Henry, Ioan Gruffudd as Siobhan's husband Andrew Martin, Nestor Carbonell as Bridget's FBI handler Agent Victor Machado and Tara Summers as Gemma.
Ringer marks the return of Sarah Michelle Gellar to a series after starring for many years on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which once appeared on the WB network, which The CW emerged from.
Below are a few promo photos from the new series. The exact premiere date of Ringer should be released later in the summer.
