Dancing With the Stars Week Five Results

After yesterday's TV Show themed episode of Dancing With the Stars - which was overflowing with upsets, including the fall of Jennifer Grey to second place - I don't think I can be surprised anymore, and when it comes to the elimination this week - nope, I wasn't.  There probably wasn't much of a question amongst Dancing With the Stars fans as to who was going to be eliminated tonight.  There was a distant chance (hope?) that Bristol Palin would finally be sent back to Wasilla to preach the evils of condoms, but alas she was one of the early saves this evening.

In fact, the order of the safe announcements was a bit anti-climatic in the most literal sense.  Kyle and Bristol were saved from the axe first, and Jennifer Grey was announced as safe very late in the show.  Maybe the Dancing With the Stars producers were attempting a little suspense, who knows.  (For those who don't know the distinction between suspense and mystery, suspense is when you know what is going to happen you just don't know when.)  As it turned out it made the evening kind of dull.  But any-who.

Is anyone surprised that Florence Henderson went home?  You could argue that the way the Dancing With the Stars contest proceeds it sort of organically weeds out the older contestants.  As the season goes on the dances become more and more athletically demanding, and the contest wholly turns into a young persons game.  So what is your prediction for next week?  I'm calling for Bristol Palin, but either Kurt or Rick could go on the basis that it is unknown how many sports fans watch Dancing With the Stars.  Tune in next week to find out.
