Dancing with the Stars Semifinals Results: 3 Finalists Chosen

Dancing with the Stars SemifinalsWell, I knew it, you knew it, and the Dancing with the Stars judges knew it first. Hope Solo was eliminated, with Ricki Lake, JR Martinez and Rob Kardashian dancing into the Season 13 finals. I don’t think Hope was too upset, because she fist pumped early in the show when she was placed in jeopardy.  She’s tired, aggravated and admitted during week 6 in a behind the scenes confessional she didn’t “get this show.” What was cute was Hope thanking partner Maks Chmerkovskiy for letting her be on “his” show, a reference to his implosion in week 6. See video of the elimination below.

Rob and Cheryl Burke’s samba was chosen as the encore dance at the top of the hour. So it stood to reason that he was sent into the Finals first. Hope and Maks were put in jeopardy first. Then JR & Karina Smirnoff were placed in jeopardy while Ricki and Derek Hough were saved. Co-host Brooke Burke Charvet announced that they were not necessarily the bottom two. If that’s true, then it means JR is getting tons of votes, more so than one of the other two. My guess is Rob, which further proves my conspiracy theory – which you can read here.  They had to make sure Rob stayed ‘safely’ away from Hope in order to send her home.

A highlight tonight was a hilarious pseudo Queer Eye for The Straight Guy segment featuring Carson Kressley, who was “sent into the closet” to work for the Dancing with the Stars wardrobe department. See video clip below. The Design A Dance was an awesome paso doble by pros Anna Trebunskaya and Derek Hough. It was great that Anna won it for once.  She is arguably one of the show's underrated talents.

Next week is the Dancing With the Stars Finals! Tom Bergeron announced on Monday night the Finals is only going to be a one hour show.  Odd. Maybe they wore everyone out this week with the 3 dances. My guess is the Finals will feature the contestants doing “the freestyle”, which has not yet been done this season. Everyone knows Derek is the master of the freestyle, so the other 2 finalists definitely have their work cut out for them. See the Dancing with the Stars: The Finals Monday, November 21 at 8 p.m. (ET) on ABC.
