Have you no shame, Kate Gosselin? We've already been forced to watch your family be torn apart during that awful, public divorce between yourself and Jon. And now, even though Kate Plus Eight has been cancelled, we're still going to have to deal with you on television, with Dancing with the Stars. It's sad, really.

Kate Gosselin may call herself many things. Even if you look at her in the most positive of lights, she is not a star. She's a mother who appeared on a reality show. She's no more of a star than Matt and Amy Roloff (of Little People, Big World) or even one of her eight children, who will probably grow up with very little or no privacy due to the actions of their parents.

A source for Gosselin told RadarOnline that Gosselin was taking the spot on the show because she was trying to be a breadwinner for her family. "Kate's the kind of woman who will do whatever is necessary for her children," the source said. "It's great for her to be on the show, but she did it ONLY in a way that benefits her family."

Whatever Gosselin's motives are, it's sure that her appearance will be one of the big viewers draws of Dancing's upcoming season, which premieres on March 22.

Gosselin will be appearing on the ABC competition along with former 90210 star Shannen Doherty and NFL star Chad Ochocinco (who had his surname changed to reflect his jersey number). Pamela Anderson will also be a member of the cast, according to Maksim Chmerkovskiy, one of the show's professional dancers, who revealed that little item of news early.

If this great roster doesn't have you ready to jump right in and watch Dancing with the Stars, worry not: tonight's finale of The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love will contain ABC's official announcement of the lineup.

Kate Gosselin needs to just go away! I will never understand why some people think she is this wonderful person.

sorry, can't stand kate gosslin – will not be watching Dancing w/Stars (which we normally love) this year

ok, I'll lower myself..uuuugggggg. Reality shows aren't reality.. I don't have cameras running around my house (thank, god) or 8 children (thanks again). My point is this. She is a organized woman who was interesting enough to keep viewers watching her show. Maybe the author is too thick to get this or never watched the show. I think the latter. But don't you understand reality shows people are stars of the audiences today? However fortunate or not it is. Supply and demand. If her show sucked it would have been dumped in one year. She was the matriarch of that family and became a producer later on.

Without looking up, who can tell me who wrote this article? I watch very little TV but I read constantly. I know who Kate Gosselin is but before reading this article I had no idea who Sam McPherson was. Like it or not I am afraid she is a star and the author of this article is a bitter nobody.

  6. SamMcPherson says:

I'm not bitter. I just don't think she should be considered a star on the same level as a football player or a singer. She's a tabloid attraction, but has no discernible talent.

  7. Kay says:

Melissa Rycroft did DWTS and she wasn't a "star" either. Like Kate Gosselin, she came from a reality show (The Bachelor). I'm looking forward to watching Kate and the others on the new season of DWTS.

I think Kate is a wonderful mother it is her other half that did this to her family rrrrrr leave her alone hope she does great on dancing with the stars and Jon is left high and dry with no family no money no anything. Have never watched DWTS before but I will this time you go Kate show all those idiots that said you were mean to Jon… OMG give them eight kids and the stress level you have and see how NICE they would have been. You were just a real mom doing a awesome job and continue to be YOU GO GIRL!
