00023815Parenting skills and bribery are the theme of this week on Desperate Housewives. Ice cream is moving the marriage possibilities between Katherine and Mike along or at least that’s what Katherine is hoping. Macaroons are the bribe of choice in the new relationship of favors between Bree and Karl Mayer, and MJ is the lucky recipient. Susan uses cleavage and cooking while Jackson counters with a marriage proposal. Gaby, at Carlos’s prodding, bribes Juanita with a promise to not wear makeup to a prominent dinner that backfires, of course.

Little MJ is the central bargaining chip in several of this week's bargains. In Bree's seemingly hurried decision to divorce Orson, she gets entangled with Karl Mayer who insists that she convince MJ to invite Evan, Karl's son, to a sleepover. There's a great deal of "dead squirrel" being thrown around in the bargain, but it all seems to turn out in the end. Evan and MJ become friends and Karl agrees to represent Bree in the divorce.

To further MJ's involvement in the week's bargains, Katherine uses him as a go between in her frustrated pursuit of Mike and a marriage proposal. The bargain doesn't turn out as well as planned when Mike reveals that he has no intention of getting married again.

Juanita becomes a central player in a bargin gone wrong with Gaby. Thanks to the cruelty of children who tease Juanita with the fact that she must be adopted since she isn't as good looking as her mother, Juanita gets in trouble for wearing makeup. The bargain is struck in an effort to convince her that real beauty comes within. While that's a wonderful value to teach children, Gaby can't quite live up to her end of the bargain that involves going to an important event without any makeup.

It’s just another week on Wysteria Lane for Desperate Housewives.
