The new season of Dexter will be premiere this weekend on September 26. Dexter will be having a lot of challenges this year - dealing with the recent death of his wife, Rita, and his continued pursuit by Quinn, who thinks there's more to Dexter than meets the eye.
Showtime has released a sneak peek from the upcoming premiere episode, which you can view below.
This season, Dexter (Michael C. Hall) will once again find himself locked in a game of wits with a street-wise cop who may be onto him. After last season’s heated confrontations with Dexter, Det. Quinn (Desmond Harrington) is following in the footsteps of the late Sgt. Doakes (Erik King) to uncover if his suspicions about the so-called mild-mannered, blood spatter expert are spot-on.
While Dexter was finally able to silence Doakes and his relentless investigation, the odds aren’t as good that he’ll be able to dispose of Quinn so easily…

In the aftermath of last season’s chilling finale, Rita’s death has left Dexter feeling responsible, possibly even…guilty. Unable to deal with the trauma, Dexter makes a drastic decision that will impact everyone around him. Quinn stirs up trouble at the station when he notes that Rita’s murder, which is being pinned on the Trinity Killer, doesn’t fit his normal murder profile. Things get even more heated when Quinn suggests to LaGuerta that they look at the husband: Dexter Morgan. Meanwhile, Quinn offers Debra much needed support, causing her to see Quinn in a new light.
Well at least Quinn is more subtle than Doakes.
