Check Out the New Doctor Who Series 6 Part 2 Poster!

We're still more than two weeks away from Doctor Who's triumphant return to our screens, but that doesn't mean that cool stuff isn't just pouring in. A few weeks after the BBC released an epic promotional photo showing the Doctor and his companions standing in front of a pyramid, BBC America has released a much simpler promotional poster for the series, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly.

Stylistically similar the "Trust Your Doctor" posters that were released for the first half of the season, the poster eschews the show's 'DW' TARDIS logo in favor of a simpler font (though a tiny version of that logo appears in the bottom left of the poster). The image also has a green color scheme, similar to the previous posters, and features the Doctor and the season's three companions: Amy, Rory, and River. A Silent is ominously superimposed over the misty green background of the poster. A bolt of lightning interestingly divides the poster between River (Alex Kingston) and the other three cast members. "Past Present & Future Will Collide," the poster warns. Matt Smith is also seen sporting the green jacket which has been added to his wardrobe for the second half of the series.

Doctor Who will return to BBC America on August 27 at 9/8c, with the midseries premiere "Let's Kill Hitler." Over the following five weeks, we'll see an uninterrupted run of episodes, leading up to the as-yet untitled season finale.

  1. Alex says:

That's not a bolt of lightning. Anyone who watched last season will recognize it instantly. (Hint: turn the poster on its side.) It's one of the leftover mysteries from last year that some thought they'd forgotten about.

  2. Juan says:

You mean the crack? I thought it was solved last year, but how the Silence caused the TARDIS to explode is the mystery that's still a mystery. But if the crack's back, then I'm all for it.
