The U.S. finally seems to have caught up with Doctor Who. It's already been announced that the States will be watching "A Christmas Carol," the Christmas special of Doctor Who, on the same day that the U.K. will be receiving the episode: Christmas day, of course! And now, it's been revealed that the special will hit the states in physical form just three weeks after the U.K. gets it -- pretty speedy considering the usual delay across the Atlantic.
While the Brits will be getting their stockings belatedly stuffed with the Doctor's newest outing on January 24, Americans will be getting the sets on February 15. The episode will be released in both DVD and Blu-ray formats in both countries. No special features have been announced, but the running time of the disc has been confirmed as 131 minutes.
Doctor Who: "A Christmas Carol" will air this Saturday, December 25, on BBC America. The episode will feature actor Michael Gambon (Harry Potter) and Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins as guest stars, while also featuring Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, and Arthur Darvill all in their regular roles as the Doctor and his two newlywed companions, Rory and Amy Pond.
