The Doctor Has a Daughter! David Tennant's Daughter Born

We reported back in January that former Doctor Who star David Tennant was going to become a father, and now he is. Tennant, who portrayed the Tenth Incarnation of the Doctor on the long-running British sci-fi series Doctor Who, welcomed his new daughter Olivia into the world earlier this month alongside fiancee Georgia Moffett.

Tennant and Moffett only announced their engagement shortly before the announcement of Moffett's pregnancy. "They did well in keeping everything very nearly private and under wraps," a source told the Daily Mail. "Georgia was a lot more pregnant than people thought when the news first broke.

Tennant (pictured right with Moffett in January), who has also reportedly been in talks for a role in the upcoming film The Hobbit, met Moffett on the set of Doctor Who during the filming of the 2008 episode "The Doctor's Daughter." Moffett, the real-life daughter of former Who star Peter Davison, played Jenny, the titular daughter, in the episode.

It looks like little Olivia just won't be able to escape the Gallifreyan blood that's flowing through her veins from both sides of the family tree. If there isn't a little TARDIS mobile hanging over her crib, I'll be quite surprised.

No word yet on when Tennant and Moffett will tie the knot, but with the way they've been privately handling their relationship, we probably won't find out about it for a while. For all we know, they could already be married!

Doctor Who, now starring Matt Smith in the role Tennant vacated last year, will return on April 23 for a sixth series, starting with the episode "The Impossible Astronaut." Also on the queue for this season: an episode titled "The Doctor's Wife."
