Doctor Who Spoiler: The Opening Moments of "Let's Kill Hitler" Revealed

The next Doctor Who episode is still a month away from airing, but Zap2It was able to get a glimpse of the first moments of the midseries premiere, titled "Let's Kill Hitler," at the Doctor Who session of the TCA Press Tour on Thursday. We've got a breakdown of the opening scene below.

Amy (Karen Gillan) and Rory (Arthur Darvill) summon the Doctor (Matt Smith) by using crop circles. It's been a while since the ending of "A Good Man Goes to War," and they want news about their daughter Melody, who was kidnapped in the previous episode by the villainous Madame Kovarian (Frances Barber).

Strangely, though it turns out that there's another problem for the Doctor to worry about: the suddenly introduced ex-con Mels (Nina Toussaint-White), a 'friend' of Amy and Rory's who decides to pull a gun on the Doctor (Zap2It seemed to think that she meant to hijack the TARDIS -- that'll go over well).

While I'm a little unsure about the sudden introduction of such a random character (I thought Amy and Rory didn't hang around with riff-raff!), I'm willing to wait and see just how Steven Moffat handles it.

Doctor Who will return with "Let's Kill Hitler" on August 27 on BBC America. No return date has been set for the UK, but I assume it'll happen on the same day.

  1. You really think someone whose name is short for "Melody" is a random character?
