'Doctor Who' Graphic Novel Coming in September

Doctor Who had a great fifth series, save for maybe one episode: "Victory of the Daleks." That episode was quite possibly one of the worst of the entire series, and it drew groans from critics everywhere, including myself. So since the Daleks got so short-sheeted in the series, how are they going to make it up to them? Well, for one thing, they were made the feature of "City of the Daleks," the first chapter of the Doctor Who Adventure Games released in the UK. But that obviously wasn't enough, because the BBC is also giving the Daleks the main role in their new graphic novel, The Only Good Dalek.

The Only Good Dalek, released September 16 in the UK, will use a storyline that is almost unheard of for the Whoniverse: good Daleks. Well, make that singular: The Only Good Dalek. Here's the official synopsis from BBC, courtesy of Digital Spy:

Top-secret Station 7 is where the Earth Forces send all the equipment captured in their war against the Daleks to be analysed and examined. But somehow the Daleks have found out about Station 7 - and there's something there that they want back.

The Doctor and Amy arrive on the station, only to discover the terrible secret of Station 7. They don't just store captured Dalek technology, it’s also a prison. And the only thing that might stop a Dalek is another Dalek!

Seeing as this novel won't feature Rory (judging from the synopsis, at least), it seems likely that it takes place between episodes "Victory of the Daleks" and "The Time of Angels", or between "Cold Blood" and "The Pandorica Opens."

Amazon is claiming that the graphic novel will hit US bookstores on October 5. The book, written by Justin Richards and Mike Collins, can be pre-ordered through Amazon by clicking this link.
