We're currently braving out the midseason hiatus between the first and second halves of series 6 of Doctor Who. Thankfully, to help shorten that gap, BBC is releasing the DVD and Blu-ray of the first half of series 6. That set is coming out on July 19 (next Tuesday), and we here at TVOvermind will have a review of it for you. In the meantime, the BBC has released a series of clips to promote the series.

A lot of these clips originally aired during the commercial breaks of the episodes of Doctor Who on BBC America. One centers on Rory and his character arc in the two-part episode "The Rebel Flesh"/"The Almost People." Another centers on that fateful picnic at the lake from the beginning of "The Impossible Astronaut," and drops a few hints about the second half of the series... I think. Steven Moffat's always so cryptic. Finally, the third clip features a look at how the Doctor's enemies view him.

Doctor Who: Series 6, Part 1 hits shelves on Tuesday, July 19. Doctor Who will return for the second half of its sixth series in the fall, starting with the midseason premiere episode "Let's Kill Hitler."
