Sometimes promo departments simply can't help but spoil you. LOST fans know what I'm talking about (many an episode plot point was spoiled with released promo photos), and now Doctor Who fans can really share their pain.
With the series six premiere, "The Impossible Astronaut," just around the corner, BBC is building hype for the return of the Doctor, Amy, and Rory by putting out some new promo photos. And if you think the Steven Moffat-penned story is going to be anything short of freaky, you've got another thing coming. If you also think that the episode (which is the first of a two-part story that concludes with "Day of the Moon") won't pick up right where "The Big Bang" left off, you're again very, very wrong.
Take, for instance, these promo pics that have been released for the episode. There's the titular astronaut, pictured right, whose facelessness lends just the right amount of scary to... Well, we really don't know what sort of role he'll be playing in the story, do we? Other than the fact that he's "impossible," of course.
But the main villain of the episode has only been seen in the blurry background of the season six trailer: the Silence. You know, the creepy voice who had been trying to kill the Doctor all last season? You might remember his creepy voice over the TARDIS intercom repeating "Silence will fall."Want to see what he looks like up close?
Creepy, huh? I like him. He resembles the classic Roswell alien, save for the fact that he doesn't have a mouth (in keeping with the "Silence" motif). That's also a pretty neat suit he's wearing as well. I hope Moffat turns him into a recurring villain; I haven't even seen him on screen yet, but I'm convinced of his greatness. What about you?

Can't wait for the new series! Very excited and I'm looking forward to who exactly the "Silence" is and their threat against the doctor. I am also very eager to know who Iris is.
