1. The Growing Success of Buffy and Angel

Before Dollhouse, way before Dollhouse, Joss Whedon came up with another interesting television show called Buffy the Vampire Slayer (yeah yeah, I realize it was a movie first, but this is a TV website).  Buffy only frequently pulled in around 4 to 6 million viewers, but for the new WB network it aired on, it was a success.  The Buffy fandom only grew, creating the spinoff series Angel, which actually had better ratings that Buffy on many occasions.  Both of these series have huge cult followings and the product and merchendise tie-ins alone have been huge.
