UPDATED: Fox Cancels Dollhouse (Seriously Cancelled....For Reals)

dollhouse-castPoor Joss Whedon.  He just can't catch a break.  Fox recently annouced that Dollhouse was being pulled from its schedule during November sweeps and people were disappointed.  I suspect they'll be even more disappointed with the news that the network has officially canceled the show.

They are currently filming episode 11 of their 13 episode order,  and according to EW, Fox will likely air all 13 of the completed episodes before removing the show from the schedule.

UPDATE: While the Futon Critic originally posted that the show's second season had simply been capped at 13 episodes, they have now recanted and confirmed the cancellation.

Well, at least they aren’t “officially” cancelling it yet. Still, I can’t help but wonder if they’re just saying that so us fans don’t get pissed and bitch about them for the rest of the season. Maybe they think if they wait until May to announce it, fans can just bitch over the hiatus.

    • Fox may be saying it’s only capped at 13, but even Futon Critic’s calling that what it is. It’s dead, unfortunately.

I saw this one coming a few weeks ago, and pulling it for sweeps really, really sucks but not a surprise

      • Bryan Jones says:

Yeah, not a surprise at all. I am glad we at least got the episodes we did get this season. And at least they have a couple episodes to wrap things up for us. Where as the poor souls who watched Eastwick will get no closure.

Like me… Now I have to make the call to say that the hit is back on… Or should I wait until they come after Fringe?
