The former would be the case for Eastwick executive producer Maggie Friedman as she recanted her statement of being "furious" about the Eastwick's cancellation while talking to Michael Ausiello, my new idol.

"I misspoke in the worst possible way," Friedman told Ausiello in an email. "The word was 'furious' was poorly chosen by me."

Friedman also went on to say that she was or is in no shape way or form "angry at ABC."

"They treated me well. I am not the least bit furious, with anyone. That's simply not that kind of person I am."

Duly noted, Ms. Friedman! Can't wait for your next offering!

The announcement of the cancellation came while they were finishing up the 13th and final episode that ABC has ordered. This means that there was no way to give fans any kind of closure on the series and where it was headed.

“We’re smack in the middle of several insanely juicy stories,” Friedman sighs. “And so we do not get a chance to wrap things up in a bow. Which is killing me.”

Those final episode are expected to be aired on ABC as planned, and Friedman still thinks that fans should tune in, saying "I believe [ABC] is going to air the rest of our run, and I think people should tune in anyway because our best episodes are in there. We were really hitting our stride."

She went on to say that "The magic was getting crazy, the storylines were getting really exciting and sexy and dangerous. I [just] wish we could’ve given the fans — and ourselves — real closure.”

The remaining episode should be finished before the January run of new shows begin and its still unknown what ABC will put on to close out Wednesday night's popular comedy block. It has been suggested that Ugly Betty may snag this timeslot. But where, then, would Lost find its home?

The question remains: what happens to Eastwick's 10:00 p.m. spot on Wednesday nights slot? That's prime TV real estate. For a number of years LOST has aired on Wednesday nights, at both 9:00 and 10:00. The season 6 return date is still undecided, but with Eastwick's demise, is a 10:00 spot on Wednesday night guaranteed for LOST's final season?

Not so fast, according to E!Online's Kristen:

According to sources, ABC higher-ups are considering moving Ugly Betty to Wednesdays at 10 in January as part of a flashy relaunch of the show in an effort to save it. The thinking is that Betty would complement new hits Modern Family and Cougar Town nicely, and make ABC a solid destination for comedy on Wednesday night.

Nothing has been decided, but I'm told this is one option on the table.

"Honest to God, they haven't given us a date yet," Lost boss Damon Lindelof recently told USA Today. "I don't even know what night it's going to be on. We've been on Wednesday at 9 for awhile, but now ABC's comedies are actually working. And I actually like Modern Family and Cougar Town, so I'm not sure that they'll move them."

No word yet on where Lost will go if Betty gets Eastwick's Wednesday slot.

Friday nights aren't what they used to be when the TGIF line-up was airing and kids were glued to their television sets (myself included). Moving Ugly Betty to Friday nights this year must have had an impact on the ratings.

Putting it at 10:00 on Wednesday nights would certainly be different from its previous spot earlier in the evening on Thursdays, but it would still be infinitely better than Friday nights.

Kristen continues to give some spoilers for what's in store for an upcoming Ugly Betty episodes (so avert your eyes if you don't want to be spoiled):

According to insiders, Betty also has a creative resurgence in the works, including an episode in the spirit of Run Lola Run in which Betty must race across town to deliver a diamond-encrusted bra which sounds pretty exciting. ABC execs asked producers to move the episode up to an earlier date because they liked it so much, according to my mole.

And yet I'm also told that Betty's writers have accepted the possibility that this year's season finale could possibly be a series finale if the ratings don't improve. "The big question is: Who will Betty end up with in the end? Gio? Henry? Daniel?" one mole tells me. "The writers' room is divided."

Breaking News: The Craft is Up For "Eastwick" Witches...

Sniff, sniff, sniff...

Another show has bitten the dust for the 2009-2010 TV season.

According to HitFix.com, "Eastwick" has been canceled effective immediately. ABC opted not to pick up the back nine for the show, which has been finishing last in its Wednesday night time slot, something that I didn't know anything about. According to TV by the Numbers, despite "Eastwick" being called the "least watched show on ABC" or "a ratings failure", it still beat NBC's "The Jay Leno Show" for a consecutive three weeks as of last week by a 23% margin. That should've been something to look at before canceling it right, ABC?

But alas, it wasn't. On the other front, ABC picked up five more scripts for the Jerry Bruckheimer drama, The forgotten, which I had forgot was even still on TV. ABC still plans on airing all 13 episodes of Eastwick before pulling the plug, but by them pulling this weeks ep (for the CMA's) and next week's ep (for a Janet Jackson interview) from the schedule, we will be lucky to see that day happen.

So Eastwick fans, what do you think? Are you about to bawl like a baby like me? Or send a hex to ABC? Please just do the former...

I could blame it on the craziness that has been my life for the past couple of days, but I only was interested in one storyline this week and that stroyline involved Kat, Bun, and Eleanor. So let's start with them first.

The Mythology Thickens

Eleanor (guest star Cybil Shepherd) cooks breakfast in her shack when an ad for Eastwick Wines appears on the TV with Darryl in the commercial. He seems to send a message to Eleanor, but the site of Darryl is enough to send Eleanor running out of her cabin and into the road where she is almost hit by a Mack 1o truck.

Meanwhile, it's Kat's turn with the kids and RJ injures Emily resulting in a nasty cut. When Kat rubs some antibiotic on the cut with her finger, the cut magically disappears. Emily thinks it is cool, but Kat is beyond freaked.

Later at the hospital, Eleanor give her nurse hell and when Kat walks in Eleanor declares that Kat be her nurse and heal her scars. Kat doesn't know what Eleanor is talking about at first, but when Eleanor tells Kat that she is like her and has the power to heal, Kat is wigged out even more. Eleanor tries to explain more to Kat, but Kat tries to change the subject. When Kat checks Eleanor's chart, she finds out that Bun is Eleanor's emergency contact person, but Eleanor has disappeared by the time Kat raises her head from the chart.

Later, Kat drags Bun with her to Eleanor's shack and when Eleanor comes to the door, she is not happy to see Bun, who is oblivious to the whole scenario. Kat tells Eleanor that she might can help Bun regain her memory and Eleanor relents, but tells Bun that she will have to do something in return. When they get inside, Kat notices Eleanor's garden and that Eleanor also has five kids. Eleanor stresses again that she and Kat are tit for tat in everything. Kat then tells Eleanor how Bun lost her memory and Eleanor comments that "He is a tricky bastard". Kat asks who (but we all know who) and Eleanor tells Kat to prepare to learn about her newfound gifts.

After awhile, Eleanor demands that Bun chugs down a glass of some concoction she made and tells them that its to numb the pain that is about to come. Before they can blink an eye after Bun reports that the upper part of her body is numb, Eleanor stabs two needle rods into Bun's back that have another concoction on the needle points. Kat freaks as Eleanor starts chanting and then red ants start to leave Bun's body through the puncture wounds and onto the floor. Eleanor commands that Kat kill as many of them as possible and when they do, Bun comes to and remembers everything, including her disdain for Eleanor and the current events. Kat tells Bun that they better leave, but Bun says she needs to stay there with Eleanor. After Kat leaves, Eleanor tells Bun that Darryl is back and they decide that they need to kill him again.

Uh Oh!!!

Later that night, RJ hurts his knee and Kat is about to heal it with her touch, but she decides against it and places a Band-Aid on it instead. When RJ leaves, Kat spots an ant and immediately smashes it.

Seems like someone is having trouble accepting their powers... Give em to me if you don't want them, Kat!

"I Shall Be Released"

Roxie awakes the next morning after the bonfire to see Chad laying beside her. She thinks she's awake though. Chad tells her that she is sleep and that he is not there in person, but in her dreams and that she needs to do one thing for him because this will be the last time she sees him. Roxie asks Chad what does he want and he simply replies: "Follow the signs." Then Roxie wakes up.

Meanwhile at the hospital, Kat and Joanna run across Chad's dead body and rush to tell Roxie, who has already deducted the horrifying news by the dream and the girls' somber faces. She breaks down and Kat and Joanna comfort her.

As Roxie prepares for the funeral and looks for signs in Chad's drawer, Mia drops the bombshell that Chad's family doesn't want Roxie to attend the funeral, which crushes Roxie even more, because she blames herself for Chad's death and feels that Chad's family feels the same way. After getting to the bottom of Chad's drawer, Roxie finds a hammer that says "Return To Darryl Van Horn" and she rushes to Darryl's.

Roxie gives the hammer to Darryl to see if it has some significance, but Darryl says he doesn't know if it does. He then proceeds to walk on hot coals, which is something that has always pondered but never had the desire to actually do. While Darryl walks on the coals, he gives words of wisdom to Roxie about why women shouldn't feel cursed, because they were given the power to give life and to be self-aware, qualities that men lack. He also reveals to Roxie that her actual curse is to be extra ordinary and that she should grasp it and use it for her personal gain. Roxie says that she doesn't want people to run away from her and that she can't even go to Chad's funeral, but Darryl reminds Roxie that she was at the funeral in her vision, but Roxie says that it was raining also. Then it promptly starts to rain.

Time to get your mourn on, Roxie.

Roxie appears at the funeral with Mia and everyone is not happy about it. After the funeral, Roxie tries to pay her respects to Chad's mother, who makes her disdain and outrage known to Roxie for showing up. Then Chad's grandfather tries to manhandle Roxie out the funeral, but is knocked into an open grave when Roxie resists. Roxie also spots a young lady who was wearing the exact shirt that Chad wore in her dream. She goes and introduces herself to the girl (whose name is Jenna), who reveals that she was helping Chad with a song for Roxie's birthday entitled "I Shall Be Released". Jenna gives Roxie a copy of the song before leaving.

Roxie goes home and cries while holding the CD. She puts the CD into her CD player, but doesn't play it. Instead she makes her way back to Darryl's. She claims that she figured out that Chad wanted her to stop blaming herself for the death of her husband Danny and Chad and to let the past go and free herself from it. But Darryl feels that the only way for Roxie to release herself is by releasing her body and soul to him. But Roxie isn't dumb and says that the only way she can achieve total freedom is to do it herself.

When Roxie returns home, she plays Chad's song and starts the painful task of letting go by cleaning out Chad's drawer and putting all of his stuff in one box and also cleaning out Danny's drawer, which she hadn't touched since his death, and placing his things in his own box. Now, that I think back on it, this was the best scene of the night.

Joanna's Quest For Power

Joanna stops by the newspaper office to tell Penny about her newfound telekinesis over a picnic, but Penny tries to hide the fact Clyde has already replaced Joanna with a hot shot named Max Brody (guest star Jason George; Eve, What About Brian), who has had stints at The Washington Post and other prominent papers. Joanna has met her match in Max and he wants to do a story based on Joanna's ordeal in the coffin last week. Joanna doesn't want to tell Max her story and blows him off, her mind on other things. Like telekinesis.

While talking to Penny, Joanna tries to move a salt shaker and bend a spoon, both epic failures. Penny thinks Joanna is just traumatized from her near death experience, but Joanna feels that the experience reawakened something in her. Penny voices her concern for her friend, but Joanna repeats that she is fine. I don't know about that Joanna...

While Joanna tries to move her beer mug in the bar, Max shows up and amps the annoyance level to a screeching ten decibels. Joanna tells Max that she is trying to recreate a moment that had never happened before to happen again. He annoying asks question after question and Joanna figures out that she was emotional when she was moving things. Max eventually gives some good useful information to Joanna by referencing the movie Groundhog Day, telling Joanna that she is looking for the end result instead of putting the feeling into the task. Joanna gets an idea and Max is hot on her heels.

The idea is at a carnival that is about to close and a Ferris Wheel. Joanna reveals that she is scared of heights as is Max. Joanna gives the carny in charge of the ride The Eye and he lets them on despite saying they were closed. Joanna also glamours him into not closing the protection bar all the way. The ride starts and the bar comes off. Joanna moves the bar a little bit, but Max in a fit of panic grabs it and screams for help. Wimpy, little weasel...

When they get down, Max runs away and goes on a tirade saying that Joanna has a death wish. Joanna calls resentment for his words, but he tells her that she seriously needs to talk to someone like last week, because she is not 'OK' mentally after her ordeal. Joanna claims that she is trying to not think about the negative, because she can't deal, but Max tells her that she can't do that, because without critical thinking there is really no point in processing anything. I think.

In the end, Joanna goes to Penny for comfort and finally talks about her ordeal, including her unemployment and loneliness. Penny says that she is there to help Joanna through these troubling times. Awww...

The Aura of Tonight

- So Eleanor has a Mother Nature power like Kat, but she seems to also be able to either tell the future or read minds, but either way she is very powerful. Wonder if Bun has the power of persuasion or the power of precognition? Can't wait to see what happened to the third witch.

- Eastwick is a highly judgmental town. Remind me not to vacation there. Ever.

- Like I stated, the whole last scene was very sad and poignant and the symbolism hit a lot of nerves with me, because I too, can't deal with death well. It's hard to let go of someone close and kudos to Rebecca Romijn for a job well done.

Well, peeps, it seems like next week is a bi-week for Eastwick so I will see you when I see ya!

Oh and the Jamie’s mother mystery went somewhere that I didn’t see coming.

The Witches Field

Roxie leads a tour for the Eastwick Witches Field where townspeople are getting ready for the annual Witch Burning ceremony, which consists of dressing up coffins for the metaphorical demons (debt, ex lovers, bad grades, etc) that have haunted the residents of Eastwick for the year. In the tour group is Bun, who usually gives the tour but sat out due to her memory loss. While Roxie flubs through the tour, Darryl shows up and in the process unnerves Bun, who tells Roxie that Darryl is a bad man after he leaves. Roxie then has the same vision of the funeral and she collapses and screams. When a tour member calls Roxie crazy, Bun defends Roxie by telling the tour member to shut her trap and “can’t you see that she has just been to a funeral!”

Say what?!?!

Later, Roxie tries to get Bun to remember what happened, but Bun only knows what she saw. Roxie then asks Bun if she saw anything that Roxie didn’t see and Bun did: she saw that whoever was going to die, they died by a statue. Roxie immediately knows who and runs to Darryl’s place as the statue he had built is about to topple over and kill him. Roxie gets there in time to push him out the way and screams in glory that she can change the future. But Darryl kills that joy when his henchmen find out that the statue wasn’t bolted down properly due to Chad, who Darryl fires.

Later, Chad comes to Roxie’s and asks why didn’t she take up for him, but Roxie says that her hands were tied and I ponder how can you really take up for shoddy craftsmanship? Chad’s a cool dude, but seriously… When he doesn’t get the answer he wants, Chad angrily leaves, not answering Roxie’s question of picking her up for the bonfire.

Meanwhile, Mia tries to make things up with Josh, but his ego is still bruised a little. He asks her to go with him to the bonfire and to dress up in a costume. Aww…

Kat, Joanna, and a Kidnapping

While Joanna eats her sorrows away (dipping salty chips in chocolate ice cream is a huge problem), Kat and Roxie try to cheer her up. But Kat tries even harder to get Joanna to go after Will, something that Joanna notices, but doesn’t elaborate on. Joanna builds up the courage to visit Will at the newspaper office and she apologizes to him and Will actually accepts the apology and understands her plight.

But he still doesn’t want to date her anymore.

Will tells Joanna that he has moved on and Joanna uses her powers to say who has he moved on to exactly and he reveals it was Kat. Joanna is stunned and Penny (who witnessed the whole thing) tells Joanna, “I told you not to trust them crazy bitches!” HA!

Joanna goes to confront Kat at the hospital and Kat says that she never wanted to hurt Joanna and that she has zero feelings for Will, but the damage is far severe in Joanna’s eyes and she declares that she and Kat shouldn’t speak to each other for awhile. Wonder how is that going to work out for Kat’s sleeping arrangements?

Meanwhile, Penny gets a visitor in Jaime, who Penny blames for all of Joanna’s troubles since it was his information on Darryl that got Joanna fired. Jamie sticks with his story, but Penny says that despite the great sex, he needs to step off.

Joanna returns back to drowning herself in her sorrows and fatty food combinations at home and while reaching for the remote, she is shocked to find that she has the power of telekinesis after the remote moves towards her. Before she could have fun with this new ability, there is a persistent knock on the door. Joanna goes to answer it and it is none other than Pastor Dunne who chloroforms her and takes her from the apartment.

While she’s tied up in the back of his van, Pastor Dunne talks about Joanna helping him see his hypocrisy and now it’s her turn. When Joanna uses her powers to persuade Pastor Dunne, it doesn’t work and he says “Thou Shalt Not Suffer The Sorceress!”

Ok…

When Pastor Dunne takes Joanna to his hideout, it is apparent that he is building a coffin for the bonfire and that Joanna is going to be his metaphorical demon. Joanna tries to escape, and cuts Pastor Dunne in the process, but he gets the upper hand and knocks her out. He places her in the coffin and sets the coffin at the very top of he bonfire, where nobody can reach her after the fire is lit. Wonder where is the self-righteous Mrs. Dunne at now? I really want to see her face as she tries to justify the derange-ness that is her husband.

An Eastwick Sacrifice

When Joanna won’t return Kat’s calls, Kat goes to Penny and when Penny doesn’t get an answer, Kat gets worried. Along with Penny, the two go back to Joanna’s apartment and they find that Joanna left her keys behind, which means that something is seriously up. The police are of no help, and Penny declares that she will find Joanna on her own since Kat wants to go to Roxie for help, who Penny thinks is the least bright of the “trifecta”.

While searching for Joanna by using her picture, Penny runs into Jaime, who still wants Penny and is sorry for everything that has happened. But Penny isn’t ready yet.

Kat runs to Roxie’s and while Roxie and Kat try to figure out something, Bun picks up Joanna’s keys and tosses them back down because they burned her. Roxie and Kat aren’t affected, but Bun literally can’t touch the keys because they burn her. The two other women guess that Joanna has to be at the bonfire and run there, leaving Bun alone again.

While Bun naps, Darryl sneaks in and Bun panics claiming that Darryl shouldn’t be there, because they killed him. Darryl surmises that Bun remembers everything and before he can dig deeper, Mia walks in killing the moment. After Darryl leaves, Bun goes to Witches Field with Mia.

Joanna tries to scream at the top of her lungs from the coffin, but no one can hear her due to the festivities. Man, if they only knew that they were burning an actual witch…

The characters all descend upon the bonfire and when Kat and Roxie arrive, they spot Pastor Dunne staring into the fire. Why no one else noticed him, not to mention his bloody-gashed face, since he has been “missing” for so long is beyond me. When Kat and Roxie approach him about Joanna, he tells them it’s too late with a glance into the fire. The two women panic and run for help, but Pastor Dunne slips away undetected.

Bun and Mia arrive and Bun reads Mia’s mind, which reveals that Mia is embarrassed being seen with Bun. Mia just go find your friends and stick with them like glue. When Josh appears out the crowd, he is not in costume and Mia is shocked to find out that he was just kidding about dressing up. Mia tells him that she will go lengths to prove how much she likes him. Bun tells them to kiss already and this is why I love Bun! She reads minds perfectly.

Roxie runs to tell the firefighters to put out the fire, but they can’t hear or understand her. Kat was told by Roxie to go find the Sheriff, but instead Kat tries to climb the blazing bonfire to get to Joanna. When she gets close, Will pulls her away and the blaze gets higher and engulfs the coffins. Kat goes into hysterics and she screams for Joanna and then all of a sudden raindrops start to fall and Kat has brought in a rain shower that douses the flames and then stops. Will goes up and he opens up Joanna’s casket, and she is surprised to see Will of all people “rescue” her.

Back in town, Jamie opens up his spell book and takes out a letter. Oh and by the way, the symbol that has appeared everywhere is a triskel, a Celtic symbol. Jamie meets up with Penny and tells her about Joanna and she panics. He calms her nerves and says that he is willing to take her to the hospital. Penny wonders why is he so nice, when she treats him like crap and he says that he still likes her and that he needs her help in bringing down Darryl, because Darryl killed his mother.

HUH? WHO? HOW?!

While everyone fusses over Joanna, she thanks Will who tells her that it was Kat who “tried to walk through fire” to save Joanna. While the others leave, Joanna and Kat reconcile and Joanna finds that it is quite touching that Kat went into the fire for her.

Darryl pulls up after everything has went down and comes across Bun and Roxie, after slick telling Bun to take a hike, he consoles Roxie who tells him about her bad day. When he hugs her, Chad watches from afar and gets pissed. Roxie goes back to the truck where Bun (thank God!) is waiting and Roxie goes into a rant about she wished she could have known that it was Joanna who needed saving, because they could have prevented it way earlier. As she discusses trying to hone her skills, Bun burst out that no matter what Roxie does, she CANNOT change the future, because there are things that have been put in motion that can’t be undone.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Chad walks through town and sees that Darryl has placed his statue at the Eastwick Inn as planned. Chad gets pissed and takes an iron pole and starts attacking the statue, but the statue doesn’t dent or anything. When Chad stops and is about to walk away, the statue topples over and kills Chad on impact.

Dammit, dammit, DAMMITT!!!!!

Perceptions of Mine's Eye

- Tonight, I thought that it was either going to be Chad or Bun to bite the bullet, but I was leaning towards Bun, because of her name being absent from last week’s credits (it was back in this week’s) and how they kept leaving her unattended last night. I was on the edge of my seat every time Bun was on her own cause she is a big key to the mystery and I don’t want her to go yet. Plus, Veronica Cartwright just kicks ass in anything she does. With that said, I will most definitely miss Chad, because he was the good guy to Darryl’s bad guy and the conflict could have lasted all season.

- Mia and Josh. 1) Just when the two settled their differences, Chad had to die and I am scared for these two now. I just need Mia to stop being embarrassed 24/7 and be happy for once. She has been through enough.

- Pastor Dunne again proved my fear for organized religion this week, because something tells me that they are going to spin it for him to be the victim in all of this.

- Kat and Joanna’s reconciliation? Classic. Two guys would still be duking it our probably. Then they would go have a beer afterwards. It’s the ego thing.

Have a safe a happy All Hallow’s Eve, friends!!!

Legend Has It…

While dining at one of Darryl’s restaurants (he seems to own everything now), the ladies plus Darryl feast and giggle at their problems. A waiter hits on Kat, but she isn’t all that ready to mingle just yet, while Joanna pines after Will, who has entered the restaurant alone. Kat, being a good friend, approaches Will about how stupid he’s being and for him to get with the program and reconcile with Joanna. After that show of camaraderie, the women (and Darryl) are met with Elise Dunne, the ‘saintly’ wife of Pastor Dunne, who has been M.I.A. since the scandal broke. Elise feels that it is her duty to blast Darryl and the girls by revealing each of their problems in front of the restaurant, while reinstating my fear of ‘devout’ churchgoers because they think that everyone else is terrible except themselves. For Kat, she surmises that Kat threw away a perfect marriage to hang out with Darryl, Roxie, and Joanna. For Roxie, Elise finds it shameful for dating a young boy who could date Mia. Finally for Joanna, Elise feels that Joanna’s article was a fabricated lie about unproven accusations. While no sin out weighs the next, a preacher caught with a prostitute trumps everything that you just ‘revealed’, Mrs. Dunne. But despite the women putting their foot down and counterattacking, they leave the restaurant.

AAAARRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!!

At the fountain, Darryl tells the women about Luno Solvo, which is when the moon appears three times as big as usual and brings out the sensual and primal instincts of every one and it happens only in Eastwick since Eastwick is on “sacred ground”. The three women toast to the moon and I prepare myself to laugh my ass off.

Be Careful What You Wish For…

Joanna is feeling the heat at work since Clyde wants another red-hot cover story in the veins of the Pastor Dunne debacle. But Joanna is stumped and can’t come up with anything. Penny then brings out the Darryl van Horn story and pesters Joanna about not wanting to print it because of her friendship with Darryl. Joanna relents and calls Dominick Savage, a guy who worked for Darryl in New York.

Mia talks to Josh (guest star Darren Criss) via webcam until Roxie walks into the house and wants to know who was Mia talking to. When Mia smart mouths to Roxie about trying to be a mother all of a sudden Roxie grounds Mia, but not in an ‘official’ motherly way. The next day, Chad stops by Roxie’s shop and catches her holding Mia’s diary. After prodding from Chad, Roxie reveals that she wants to see if she can see what’s in Mia’s diary without opening it. Chad, being a doting boyfriend, wants to help Roxie with her precognition by being her Yoda. Awww.

Kat has made a “bucket list” in celebration of her newfound singledom. Darryl wants to help out, especially after he sees “TheFabulous Baker Brothers” on the list, which Kat says that she wants to be like Michelle Pfeiffer. Oh, but Kat you ARE being like Michelle Pfeiffer! Darry starts to play on the piano, but he claims that he is making love to it instead of playing it. HA! Kat doesn’t want to sing at the moment and Darryl mutters to himself that he will have to put in extra work with her.

Mia walks out of the school with Josh and the two are flirting mighty heavily, but Mia sees her friends and Josh leaves on time. When her friends ask why was she hanging out with Josh, she lies about getting class notes from him. That’s not right, Mia!

Enter the Sensual Full Moon… And Band Candy

Joanna gets damaging info from Savage, but nothing concrete. So while she is freaking out, Penny notices the moon outside and how it seem to be inches from touching the town. Joanna has a new idea: PARTY!!!

Chad is trying to get Roxie to guess playing cards without seeing them. She is failing miserably, but decides to call and see where Mia is, since Roxie grounded her and all. Mia hangs up the phone while Roxie interrogates her and Roxie has had it. She then notices the full moon outside and she tells Chad that she is about to go find Mia. Before they leave, she tells Chad that the top card is a three of clubs and it is. She guesses each card correctly and Chad is impressed.

Kat wanders the town square while everyone around her is either dancing, streaking, or making out with old people. She spots a red sultry dress in a store window and also notices the full moon. She enters the store with a wicked smile on her face.

Spooky Little Boy Like You…

Kat enters the restaurant in the sultry red dress ready to do her thing. Darryl is there waiting and can’t wait for Kat to let loose for once. And let loose Kat does! She sings a sultry version of The Classic IV’s “Spooky” that serves as the background song for the crazy going on in town. While Kat sings, she mesmerizes the restaurant patrons as well as the flames from the candles and the place catches fire when one candle flame reaches a curtain.

Joanna makes photocopies of her ass on the copy machine and the rest of the office is in party mode that reminds me of the Christmas party from The Apartment just amped up a bit. While riding the warm machine, Joanna gets an idea for the Darryl van Horn story and runs tell Clyde. Joanna’s idea? Take all of the questions posed about Darryl and turn them into an inquiry piece. In other words, if Darryl won’t answer her questions then he should face the town.

In other words: trouble.

Clyde loves the story and runs it to the press sans pants. Could have gone without seeing that. After Clyde leaves, Penny and Joanna shout for joy when Penny kisses Joanna hard and sexy. Oh, boy…!

Roxie asks every person on the street if they have seen Mia, which is amusing to Chad. But when Roxie asks one teen about Mia, she gets a vision of his mother finding his pot. She realizes that by touching people she can sense something about them. This turns on Chad as does Roxie and they decide to freak in the ally. After finishing and going for round two, Roxie has a vision of Mia being put in jail. After telling Chad, Sheriff Tease (yes that’s his name) catches them and throws them in the slammer for public indecent exposure.

Mia, Josh, and other high school students are all T.P’ing the school area and while being caught in the moment, Josh and Mia kiss.

After the restaurant burns to the ground, Kat waits by the ambulance to be checked for injuries. Will, who you will remember is a volunteer fire fighter, tends to Kat and comes on to her pretty strongly. Kat advises that he doesn’t do that, but he does anyway and the two kiss!!! Not cool, Kat!

While in prison, Roxie is shocked about her behavior and is even more shocked when Mia and Josh show up and put in the cell with them. Roxie had no clue that Mia was dating Chad’s little brother Josh, and Mia immediately declares that she is not dating Josh and the two get in a shouting match, while the two brothers look on. Roxie wonders why Mia would hide something like dating Josh from her, and Mia exclaims that it’s gross (her dating her mother’s brother, which Chad and I agree with) and that if people knew she was dating Josh then her reputation would be in ruins. REALLY, MIA?!?!?! Plus, the town already thinks your mom is a slut and murderer, so I think dating Josh is the least of your worries. Of course, Josh is hurt and Mia looks like a huge ass…

Reap What You Sow…

The next morning, Kat awakes on Joanna’s couch, while Joanna makes breakfast. Joanna notices the red dress and asks about Kat’s night. Kat tells her everything, but the kissing of Will. Joanna knows that Kat had to have snagged someone with the dress on, but she doesn’t get to play journalist with Kat when she sees the front page of the newspaper. Joanna then gets a call from Clyde telling her to come to the office immediately. When she gets there, Clyde is so trying to cover his ass, but neither Joanna nor Darryl is trying to here his crap. Darryl asks why did Joanna do him dirty and she simply says that it was because he wouldn’t give her a decent interview. He then gives her the chance to interview him right then and there and while she fires the questions at him, he answers them just as quickly and has his servant pull out a file to back them up. He lets Joanna know that he his disgusted with her journalism and how he feels betrayed before he leaves. Clyde fires Joanna immediately afterwards. Poor Joanna… Damn, Clyde…

Darryl spies Kat looking at the burnt down restaurant and offers her advice on life, which dealt with how people pay hefty prices for moments of pleasure and how much people are willing to pay to have that pleasure gratified.

Meanwhile, Roxie tries to make peace with Mia and apologizes for flip-flopping the role of mother and best friend. She then says that she will try to be a mother, but one who trusts her daughter and asks the same of Mia, who agrees. Mia opens up about Josh and admits liking him. Roxie offers to help her form a tactical apology and all is well in the Torcoletti kingdom. Later when Chad stops by and tries to help Roxie again with her psychic powers, she has a vision of she and Mia crying profusely at someone’s funeral. When she comes to Chad asks if her vision was about him and she says: “I don’t know… I hope not.”

Curtains.

My “Hmmm” Moments of the Night

- First off, I saw neither Veronica Cartwright (Bun Waverly) nor Jon Bernthal’s (Raymond Gardner) names in the opening credits! Is this temporary? It has to be because Bun’s back next week. I wonder if this will happen every week someone doesn’t appear on screen?

- Clyde firing Joanna was a slight shock, but I was more expecting Clyde to be fired by Darryl only because it would be granting a wish of Joanna’s to have power. Plus, it was Clyde who didn’t do his job by rejecting the story. I wonder how this will turn out next week…

- I loved the ironic pun Darryl gives Kat when she apologizes to him for burning down the restaurant: “Hell, I own the candles that burned the place down…” Does this guy not own anything in town?!?

See ya next full moon!

The episode picked up nanoseconds after last week’s episode ended, so let’s jump right into it.

Know Your Neighbors

After having another premonition about Jamie (guest star Jack Huston) spying on her at the Lennox Mansion, Roxie awakes to Jamie entering her shop bearing an apple as a gift. Roxie doesn’t take the apple out of fear of what Jamie might had put in it. While at the Lennox Mansion, Roxie gets a little déjà vu when Darryl says the same thing he said in her premonition. She looks outside, but sees no Jamie. She immediately thinks that her psychic powers are on the fritz. Darryl suggests that she gets some knowledge instead of living in ignorance. Darryl rocks, even if he is evil as sin.

Later while Jamie leaves, Roxie goes into his apartment and does some investigating. During her search, she finds a book bearing the mark of Celtic symbol (and a slight resemblance to Charmed’s Book of Shadows). She takes it and shows it to the other women who both exclaim where they had seen it before – Joanna: at Eleanor Rougement’s door frame and Kat: at the hospital, with Bun drawing it on everything she could get her hands on.

Roxie works in her shop later and is interrupted by noise of Jamie hectically looking for the missing book, claiming that his birth mother, who was from Eastwick, left the book to him. Jamie also reveals that he too was born in Eastwick. Say WHAT?!

Roxie of course feels terrible. This is amplified while Roxie helps Bun with her memory. Bun discovers the book and accuses Roxie of stealing HER book. What What WHAT?!?!? Then after Roxie returns the book (through a ruse involving casserole and a ‘covert’ mission) and apologizes to Jamie, she takes Bun out on a memory tour of the town and they bump into Jamie. After he leaves, Bun exclaims that she knows him and that she held him as a baby, which Roxie acknowledges and vows to help Bun get her memory back.

Gardner vs Gardner: Wiccan Style

After trying to call Raymond dozens of times, Kat calls the law. As she is giving her story to the Sheriff, Raymond waltzes in with the kids and a new puppy, saying that his phone was turned off, hence him not getting the calls. Bull. CRAP!

Kat and Raymond get into a heated argument as Raymond declares that he found the divorce card from hell sitting on the counter and thought he had been duped into one last rump before Kat dropped the bomb on him. He doesn’t let Kat explain as he goes on to say she left him in the middle of the night and he decided enough was enough and that he probably will take the kids away and not come back the next time. Raymond doesn’t know that he has unleashed the Dogs of War in Kat.

Kat goes to Darryl and demands for him to fire Raymond. Darryl again gives her the divorce card from hell and after working on her resolve; Kat finally relents to the lawyer. Enter Ivanka (guest star Ivana Milicevic), Darryl’s lawyer, and boy you do NOT want to be her opposition. I need her myself, but not for a divorce, just as a lawyer period.

Later, Kat and the girls use the book (see? A SPELL) and casts their first spell on Raymond by giving him the pox. Sure enough Raymond is digging something fierce and has sores to prove it. Kat immediately blames the new puppy for the ‘fleas’, but Raymond declares its not fleas. When they get to their meeting with their divorce lawyers, Raymond is still scratching and after Kat tries to keep up the ruse of fleas. Raymond declares that he will get the problem taken care of and Kat says that he doesn’t know the family physician, which is where Ivanka steps in. She asks Raymond whom would he call in the event that one of the kids got sick, he hesitates before he says “Kat”, because she is a nurse.

After the meeting, one of the kids says their stomach is hurting due to the stress of Kat hating Raymond. Kat confronts Raymond about if he told the kids that she hated him. He declares he didn’t and that if the kids feel that way, then it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why.

Kat later comes home from work and while applying ointment on Raymond’s rash, she reveals that she fired Ivanka and doesn’t want the divorce to get ugly for the kids’ sake. But that while she still loves Raymond, she is not in love with them being together. Her solution is for them to keep the house, but to take turns taking care of the kids in the house, while the other person sleeps somewhere else. Kat later goes to stay with Joanna and I assume he got the first week.

Joanna, Interrupted

The hand that grabs Joanna at the end of last week’s episode is only Joanna’s ex fiancée, Morgan (guest star Brian Hallisay). He catches her off guard and quickly blows him off and heads to work. While talking to Penny about Morgan’s return, we find out that Morgan literally left Joanna (in her wedding gown mind you) at the altar…by a text message. Can we say “OUCH!?”

Penny tries to get Joanna to focus on the Darryl Van Horn story that Penny just got more information on, but Joanna is clearly not focused and clearly still have feelings for Morgan.

She sees Morgan in town and when she approaches him to talk, a talkative Southern woman runs up and it’s apparent that she is someone to Morgan. He introduces the woman as Charlene, his current fiancée. Joanna’s face falls and drops even lower when Charlene reveals that they are getting married that weekend in Eastwick. Poor Joanna…

Later, Joanna is on her way to dinner with Will, but Morgan shows up and works on Joanna’s feelings and the two eventually sleep together, while a lonely, doltish-looking Will sits at the restaurant checking his watch. Poor Will…

The morning after, Joanna hypnotizes Morgan into revealing why he left her and he doesn’t let back. He says a lot, which would be a paragraph alone on here. One thing notable he said was that he couldn’t hear her whining about her writing every day of his life. Joanna was being brutally beaten last night in the emotional department. When Joanna gets to work, she runs into Will, who she hypnotizes him into believing her lie. Later, Morgan shows up with news that he dumped Charlene and wanted to get back with Joanna, who deduces that Morgan has some serious commitment issues and is practically the Runaway Groom. She humiliates Morgan in front of her staff and Will, who says he doesn’t want to have anything to do with Joanna. Poor kids…

Dun Dun DUN!!!! Cliffhanger Moment of the Week

We ended the night with Jamie looking at the photos he took of Roxie at the Lennox Mansion. There is a knock on the door and when he answers, PENNY walks in and we find out that Jamie has been Penny’s ‘contact’ and the passionate kiss they share seals the deal that they are lovers as well.

Whoa!!!!

Observations

So Jamie is the son of Bun, and possibly, Darryl van Horn. Or he is the son of one of the three women from the 80s, because Bun could have held him, but that doesn’t mean he was hers. Really, didn’t see that coming!

I REALLY didn’t see Penny being his lover/accomplice in bringing down Darryl Van Horn, either!!! Wonder what Penny has at stake for van Horn’s demise other than his evil intentions?

Lay your thoughts on me!

In short, last night’s Eastwick was a wickedly spun web of fun.

The women dealt with their issues separately this week so let’s break it down.

The Set Up

Kat tends to a conscious, but not there Bun, who has drawn that mysterious Celtic symbol over everything as she hummed Three Blind Mice (?). Kat is noticeable disturbed.

Darryl van Horn is taking over the town of Eastwick in the development department. He is about to break the ground at a ceremony that would signify the building of a town brewery, but is stopped by an angry mob led by Pastor Dune, who declares that the land that will be used for the brewery was bequeathed to the church and that Darryl stole it. Meanwhile during the ceremony, Joanna is still trying to find dirt on Darryl, Kat is happily back with Raymond and declines Darryl’s offer for a divorce lawyer, and Roxie sees the ghost of Gus, sending her into hysterics.

Oy vey!

Joanna Frankel: Lois Lane By Day, Catwoman by Night?

In her attempt to find out the deal about Darryl, Joanna goes to Pastor Dune after is rant at the groundbreaking ceremony for…well, dirt. Pastor Dune only spouts rants about how evil Darryl is and that Joanna’s soul is in jeopardy for even being associated with him. After that debacle, Joanna goes to the source himself and tries to use her hypnosis on Darryl to get him to tell Joanna who he is. Darryl simply tells her she doesn’t want to know. Darryl then receives a phone call about a meeting later that night and writes down the location. When he turns his back, Joanna steals the notepad that Darryl used.

Later, Joanna uses the pen imprint of the notepad to uncover the location address. She borrows an outfit from Roxie, who dubs her Catwoman, and stakes out with Penny at the location. The two women think that place is a restaurant serving tea, but quickly learn that it is actually a bordello. On their way out, Joanna spots Pastor Dune getting his freak on with a prostitute and snaps a picture. A bouncer tries to stop them, but they get away by Joanna using her hypnosis spell on him. Hopefully, Joanna can see by now whom she can and cannot use this gift on to save her grief and embarrassments down the line.

While Joanna is excited she got a first page story, she quickly deduces that she didn’t come across this by fate, but by Darryl. She celebrates with Will anyway, who reveals that he truly has feelings for her and the two go at it. Will, being the gentleman that he is, stops and sets up a date with Joanna who eagerly accepts.

Joanna gets home later and is about to shower, when someone breaks into her house and demolishes the place. Joanna jumps out her window and runs to Roxie’s.

The next day, Joanna sees her story on the front page and buys a copy at each store. Meanwhile, Pastor Dune declares revenge on Joanna and I pray that it wasn’t him who approached Joanna at the end of the hour.

The Bi-‘Polar’ Express

Kat and Raymond revert to their newlywed days and Raymond wants to take Kate out with his new paycheck. She accepts, but everywhere she turns Darryl’s divorce card is popping up in places out of the blue. On their way to dinner, Kat and Raymond decide to take a swim in the public pool and have sex. The pool boils under their heated passion, but afterwards Raymond turns a complete 180 when Kat mentions Joanna and Roxie and angrily demands Kat to never see them again. Of course Kat gets pissed and the pool begins to freeze solid. Kat and Raymond make it out in the nick of time, but the damage is done. Raymond either needs help or he needs his ass kicked. Pronto. Kat also finds her way to Roxie’s house. The next day, she returns home to a house devoid of life and a message from Raymond, telling her to go to hell. Might I add that this message was left on Darryl’s divorce lawyer calling card? Hmmm…

Dead Men Don’t Leave

Roxie sees dead Gus everywhere; in town, at Darryl’s and even in her bed after sexing it up with Chad (guest star Matt Dallas). The poor woman doesn’t know what to do and goes to a psychic (guest star Roma Maffia, Nip/Tuck), who is a phony. When the psychic declares that she will not return the money, Roxie says she can choke on it, which cause the psychic to choke on her food.

Later, Roxie sees Gus again and demands what to know what does he want. Gus say two words will send him on his way, and Roxie is now more appalled at that request than his appearance. She runs to Darryl, who tells her that she shouldn’t have to feel sorry for someone who was evil enough to try to harm her daughter and gloat about it. This calms Roxie’s nerves until Mia gives her a lesson in morality after Mia came home from a memorial service for Gus that was as fake as a VH1 female reality star’s (place appendage here). The next day, Roxie and Mia visit Gus’s mother and while Mia discloses her sympathy for Gus’s death (despite his lack of own morals), Roxie tells Gus’s apparition that she is sorry and Gus disappears.

Darryl, That Charming Man…

After killing two birds with one stone by sending Joanna off his trail and in the process knocking Pastor Dune out of his way, Darryl commences digging for his brewery. He also burns the contents from Joanna’s investigation chart on him that he stole out of her apartment. When Darryl burns the picture of Bun, Eleanor, and himself, one Bun’s drawings of the Celtic symbol starts to burn in the hospital. Spooky!!!

Mia and Chad’s Brother

Mia, not feeling everyone’s mourning of Gus at school (I could have sworn he had dropped out), is dubbed Gus’s girlfriend since he was the last person everyone saw him with on the regular. Mia is then invited to the memorial service where everyone is crying their hearts out for someone they barely knew. This irks Mia, who tells everyone that Gus wasn’t the saint they are painting him as and runs into the wood. A kid follows her from the memorial named Josh, who doesn’t know his way back to the memorial. While waiting for Josh’s brother to arrive, Josh tells Mia that he was close with Gus for three months when they were kids and that despite Gus’s turn for the worse, he still was a good person. The point being that he was somebody to his family. This is where Mia lets bygones be bygones. Awww. Then we find out that Josh is actually Chad's brother, which could being complications of the mother daughter team dating siblings. Can we say, EWWWW!

So I’m loving Eastwick and I hope it is here to stay. Stay as in staying longer than a year, ABC!!!!

In short, the episode was bewitching at best.

The night opened with Roxie having another dream about Jamie, the lunatic who she saw trying to kill her in a premonition last week. This time he is burying her alive and Roxie catches a glimpse of a symbol branded on the side of his torso. The next day at her shop, Roxie tells the story to Joanna and Kat, who both think that she is paranoid. But Jamie shows up with news that he signed the lease to the apartment above the shop and Roxie balks.

Joanna and Penny look for more dirt on Darryl van Horn, but only find news clippings about a young rich man named Sebastian Hart who drowned in the town’s river or lake and also tried to purchase the Lennox mansion as well. Then the clincher comes in a picture that showcases a younger version of Darryl. Joanna decides to contact the writer of the articles, Milton Philmont (guest star Martin Mull). When Joanna meets with Milton, he doesn’t remember writing the articles. Joanna uses her power of persuasion, but although Milton still can’t remember writing the articles, he does remember that Sebastian hung around three women and that he was scared of Sebastian for a reason. In short, Milton is the victim of a glamour. Meanwhile, Will asks Joanna out numerous of times, but the sad thing is that Joanna knows his attempts aren’t real and doesn’t follow suit with his advances. Those damn spells!

After learning that Bun is healthy but still in a coma, Kat finds out that Raymond has a clean bill of health as well. Raymond is so well that he wants to come home and work things out. I suspect that it’s because he has no place else to go, but that’s just my jaded view on life. Kat gives him one week and then he has to go, because she rightfully can’t let go that Raymond accused her of being an unfit mother and attempted murder not only three days ago. Again, I would have left him at a homeless shelter. But once they get home, Raymond seems highly genuine in his attempts to reconcile and it shows. As Kat preps her daughter for the town’s Harvest Fest performance, Raymond notices how good he has it.

Meanwhile, Darryl joins the women’s ritual of martinis unannounced and delivers gifts: A silk nature toned nightie for Kat, a bottle of perfume for Joanna (for the snooping journalist “to better sniff out the truth”), and a set of spirit dice for Roxie. Let me explain the spirit dice for a sec: the legend says that if you role one, you can see the past; if you roll two, you can see the future; and if you roll three, you can change fate, but the outcome is always chaotic. Pretty nifty, huh? I bet all these come into play later.

Roxie has her hands full with Darryl, as she is about to start on his sculpture. Turns out that Darryl also hired Chad as a handyman around the house, which creates tension and jealousy between Roxie and Chad, especially with Darryl’s never-ending advances to Roxie. When Chad overhears the incident with Mia and her boyfriend Gus, Chad gets jealous and later asks Roxie for a drawer in her house to put his things when he stays the night. Roxie is reluctant, because she hasn’t really gotten over her husband yet. While handling those two, Roxie also has to deal with Gus, who has taken the role of being a snotty taunt towards the mother and daughter team. Because of Gus’s smug attitude, Mia doesn’t want to go to Harvest Fest and this pisses Roxie to no end. She goes and corners Gus with her Jeep and gives him the third degree. After Roxie confronts Gus about Mia, Gus retorts that Roxie is nothing but a slut who killed her husband to sleep with the town’s population of men and that Mia didn’t fall too far from the tree. Claws out, Roxie scars Gus by nearly running him over. Never screw with a witch, dude.

But you don’t want to know what I thought. You want a recap. So let’s get to it.

During a town fair that celebrated the history of Eastwick, we met our three heroines: Roxie Torcoleti, a sexy, free spirit who owns her own shop, is dating a young guy named Chad, and has a daughter named Mia; Kat Gordon, a nurse with five children and an extremely lazy, chauvinistic husband named Raymond; and Joanna Frankel, a reporter for the local paper who wants to be taken seriously by not only her job, but by the paper’s photographer, Will. While all of this is happening, Bun, the head of the Eastwick Historical Society, gives us a Mary Alice-esque off screen monologue about the history of the town’s legend dealing with witches and the townswomen.

After each woman received a mysterious token (each in a hilarious way), the women are separately drawn to the town’s water fountain, which featured three women/goddesses holding up a platform. They each made a wish based on their hangups. As their coins clicked in mid air, their powers are awakened, but they don’t know it yet. Meanwhile, Bun is mysteriously attacked by red ants, and is rushed to the hospital.

After hearing that Bun is in a coma, the three women decide all of a sudden to hang out and drink, despite not really caring for each other before. As they bond, they discuss what their wishes. Kat wants a big change and for someone to take care of her for once, Roxie wants someone sexy, rich and who understands her eccentric behavior, and Joanna wants to have “it” for once. While these wishes are being made, a wealthy, mysterious figure makes his way to Eastwick, hearing the three women’s desires along the way.

The next day, Roxie has a dream about a strange man entering her shop and her falling off her ladder. Later that day the dream plays out in reality. After she collected herself, the strange man gives Roxie an invitation with her name on it. Meanwhile, Joanna embarrasses herself in front of Will again and is berated by her best friend Penny for not showing up the previous night for a get together. Their slimy boss, Clyde, breaks the news of the Lennox mansion being bought, which is strange to the townspeople since the place was supposed to be a town heirloom. On top of that, the same guy bought the paper and is now Joanna’s new boss.

Roxie’s invite brings her to the Lennox mansion where she meets our mysterious stranger: Darryl van Horn, who is seductive and cocky enough to make Christian Troy jealous in envy. Darryl wants a life-sized statue of himself and wants Roxie to build it; willing to pay Roxie’s asking price, which was $50,000. Roxie voices her disgust at the ego that is in front of her, but Darryl declares that she asked for someone like him, which would have sent alarms ringing in my head, but not Roxie. She attempts to play down her increasing attraction to Darryl, but when he disrobed in front of her, I think Roxie’s resolve disrobed as well. But she didn’t sleep with him. For now.

At its core, storytelling is about making a connection between the teller and the listeners (or viewers in this case). Stories are often told to build knowledge, teach lessons, relate history and past events in a common current setting, and most importantly of all to entertain. Eastwick, for me, has every one of those elements and I enjoyed it equally for all of them. The characters aren't perfect. The story is about three women who have always given themselves to others, and never taken. Upon learning that they have hidden powers they struggle to take control of their lives and stop being victims. But at the source of their powers lies a man to which they are still a victim...or are they. The story in this series is about their struggle to overcome as well as their struggle to learn and accept. While it may be a little early to be jumping on any bandwagons, this is definitely a show that I see having some potential.

Lets take a look at the main characters. First we have Paul Gross taking on the part of Darryl Van Horne. You will undoubtedly read many comparisons of Gross to Jack Nicholson, who played the part in the movie. To me, the comparison simply isn't fair to Paul Gross. However, allow me to say that Gross brings to the role of Darryl Van Horne his own cocky sex appeal with a spash of bravado, swank, and even compassion when necessary. Yet, despite this fact he still manages to show glimpses, at times, in the same style as Nicholson did. This gives Gross' Van Horne a uniqueness while still respected the great things that Nicholson did with the character.

The Witches

Rebecca Romijn is the free-spirit, artsy type who is dirt poor and owns a pottery shop in the small town where she sells strange pottery. She has a teenaged daughter and her house is falling apart around her. Her desire is to have a passionate and sexy stranger sweep her (and her cares) away. Romijn plays the part very well with her opening line of the series being "Chicken hands, you gonna stare at my boobs all day or are you going to buy something."

Jaime Ray Newman who you may know from Syfy's Eureka, plays Kat, who is a mom who married a good looking, but lazy, abusive, and good for nothing father to her kids. She's a nurse and is expected to do everything for the family, including being the only money-maker in the house. Her one and only wish is to have someone wait on her for a change, which is really a reasonable request.

Finally there's Lindsay Price playing the role of Joanna, an ambitious reporter who projects her own self esteem issues onto those around her and gets very little respect from the men who she works with. She's in love with a camera man at the newspaper she works at, but only seems to put her foot in her mouth anytime she speaks to him, which is almost always hilarious (she tries to cover up the fact that she was talking about him once by telling him that she has a vibrator with the same name as him, but not named after him). I will say that putting the beautiful Lindsay Price into glasses to try to make her look homely is a little weak and cheesy, however I absolutely adore Lindsay Price and can therefore let this one go.

The chemestry of the three leading ladies as well as their chemistry with Paul Gross is fantastic and turns this do-over story into something fun, a little different, and not so serious compared to the other shows you're likely to see in the 10pm time slot. You might enjoy Eastwick if you are or were a fan of Desperate Housewives, Charmed, or even Sex in the City. Don't get me wrong, the show isn't trying to be any of those in any way, but it does share some basic commonalities with them that may carry over to those fanbases and allow a connection on some level.

If you missed Eastwick's premiere last night you can catch it on ABC.com, or here on Hulu today.

PRESS RELEASE - ENTERTAINMENT - EASTWICK: Reaping and Sewing (9/30)
AS THEY CONTINUE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THEIR SUPERNATURAL POWERS, ROXIE PROTECTS MIA FROM HER HARRASSING EX-BOYFRIEND, KAT GAINS COURAGE TO END HER TOXIC MARRIAGE, AND JOANNA AND PENNY EMBARK ON A PERILOUS MISSION TO UNCOVER DARRYL VAN HORNE'S TRUE IDENTITY, ON ABC'S "EASTWICK"
Guest Stars Include Cybil Shepherd as Eleanor Rougement and Martin Mull as Milton Philmont

"Reaping and Sewing" - As Eastwick prepares for its annual fall HarvestFest, Joanna, Kat and Roxie's lives continue to take a turn for the strange. Distracted by distressing psychic visions of her new neighbor, Jamie, Roxie struggles to protect Mia from harassment by her ex-boyfriend, Gus (Christian Alexander). As Kat gains the courage to end her own toxic relationship - her marriage to Raymond -- he's back in their home to recuperate from being struck by lightning. And while Joanna worries that Will's romantic attentions are only due to her hypnotic power, she and Penny embark on a perilous mission to uncover Darryl Van Horne's true identity. Joanna finds Milton Philmont (Martin Mull), a retired Gazette reporter who years ago wrote about the death of a man named Sebastian Hart - a man who looks uncannily like a young Darryl Van Horne. Armed with an old photo of Hart with three beautiful women, she and Penny seek answers from the eccentric and reclusive Eleanor Rougement (Cybil Shepherd), on "Eastwick," WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

"Eastwick" stars Ashley Benson as Mia Torcoletti, Jon Bernthal as Raymond Gardener, Veronica Cartwright as Bun Waverly, Jamie Ray Newman as Kat Gardener, Lindsay Price as Joanna Frankel, Rebecca Romijn as Roxanne (Roxie) Torcoletti, Sara Rue as Penny Higgins, Johann Urb as Will St. David and Paul Gross as Darryl Van Horne.

Guest starring are Cybil Shepherd as Eleanor Rougement, Martin Mull as Milton Philmont, Matt Dallas as Chad, Christian Alexander as Gus, Torsten Voges as Fidel, Kelvin Han Yee as doctor, Emily Alyn Lind as Emily Gardener, Mia Hays as Amy Gardener and Betsy Rue as Melody.

Synopsis (from ABC):

In the seaside village of Eastwick, three very different women are about to discover some bewitching talents they never knew they had. And once they get together-- watch out. Something wicked their way comes.

There was a time when Roxanne, Kat and Joanna didn't get along because of their preconceived notions of each other. Roxie was the extrovert artist, Kat the overworked wife and mom, and Joanna the wallflower local reporter. But after a weird encounter in the park and a few martinis, these three women have suddenly become fast friends. Together, they wish for their lives to change.

And that's when the mysterious Darryl Van Horne arrives in town. His wealth, charisma and bad boy sex appeal are an irresistible combination for the three ladies. Mysteriously, he helps them discover their unique powers in ways they never could have imagined. But by igniting their hearts' desires, he might just be opening Pandora's Box.

He might not be Jack Nicholson, but he is the devil, and he plays it well.

The free-spirited and artistic widow Roxanne lives by her own rules; with a much younger boyfriend and a cash flow problem, she doesn't exactly cultivate favor among her neighbors. But Darryl's arrival in Eastwick seems to indicate that a change for the better is coming for Roxanne and her teen-aged daughter, Mia. What doesn't change are Roxie's vivid dreams, which may be premonitions for an exciting but dangerous future.

Joanna just wishes she could shut her mouth sometimes, especially as the most inappropriate words spill out at the most inappropriate times. But Darryl tells this uptight, bespectacled reporter that, if she would just look someone straight in the eye, she can give a proper voice to what she wants... and get it. To her shock, it works - namely on her longtime crush, Will. But is it real?

Kat wants a change in her life. A nurse, she possesses natural healing abilities and has an uncanny green thumb. But her powers can be destructive too, as she discovers when Raymond, her unemployed husband who spends his days observing life from a hammock with a can of beer, becomes their unintentional target.

As these enchanting women realize their talents, it doesn't necessarily bode well for some of the locals. Darryl's wealth stirs the pot just as Eastwick is going through tough times. When he quickly buys up the local businesses, including the town's newspaper, candle factory and a long-empty mansion, the locals become understandably curious about just who Darryl Van Horne is.

Among the curious is Joanna's co-worker and best friend, Penny. Since Darryl appeared on the scene, Joanna's been spending more and more time with Kat and Roxie - which means less time with Penny. Left behind, she decides to investigate the man who's stolen her friend.

Bun, the head of the Eastwick Historical Society, is like the fun and kooky aunt that Roxie never had. When Bun suddenly plunges into a coma at the very moment the three women spark a connection, waking only to blurt a bizarre warning about Darryl, it becomes clear that she may be a key to his mystery.

Eastwick is turned upside down as these enchanting women come into their own, but it's still the best thing to happen to this small New England town in centuries.

Based on John Updike's celebrated classic and the popular movie, "Eastwick" is brimming with romance, mystery and dangerous charm, offering a tempting vision of the ultimate wish-fulfillment fantasy.

What We Say:

Lindsay Price gives us the librarian look

I was in no way excited about this series when I first learned it had been picked up by ABC. Sure, the movie was funny and great...in the eighties!! Sure, the eighties were great, but I wouldn't exactly classify them as the epitomy of all that was every great at the movies and on TV. Still, John Updike's bestselling novel is as good a premise today as it was twenty-five years ago.

Now, after having the summer to consider the possibilities, and after seeing a few preview clips and a screener for the series, I can say that I mark this on my must see list this fall. If you saw the movie, and remember it, you'll see that they've kept it pretty much the same, except for some small alterations (that is if my memory serves me well). And at least in the pilot the focus seems to be a lot more on the relationship that these three unique women have with one another, and not as much on the magic that they seem to possess. The magic does, however, begin to rear its head soon enough, but in a more organic and free-flowing way. If none of that does it for you, I'll give you three other reasons to watch it. 1. Paul Gross does fantastic as Darryl Van Horne. He's no Jack Nicholson, but he's also fresh and adds an edge to the role. 2. Lindsay Price is hot, sweet, and innocent all at the same time and this is the perfect show for her. 3. Rebecca Romijn...need I say more?
