Emily Owens M.D. 1.06 Preview: Tyra and the Misunderstanding
When Emily walked in on Dr. Dupre and a nurse kissing in the stairwell, it was only a matter of time before the truth came out. For one, Emily is a bad liar and the guilt would have weighed too heavily before long, but secondly (and most importantly), the staff of Denver Memorial is in too close quarters for anything to remain secret. And if the right person gets wind of something particularly juicy, it could be all over the impressive facility within minutes. But on the next episode of Emily Owens M.D., the reveal is much more intimate (and unintentional) than that, though arguably more painful.
That's because it's not Emily that spills the beans; it's Dr. Dupre. Tyra had gathered her father and her friend in the same room so that she could finally come out with Emily's support. However, once Dr. Dupre gets into the office, his mind immediately jumps to "Emily is telling on me" and blows both of their covers as a result. The move could potentially stifle Tyra's moment of personal bravery, as well as interfere in her budding friendship with Emily. The two have found solace with one another in the catty confines of Denver Memorial, but will Tyra write off their obvious mutual appreciation due to Emily keeping a (major) secret like this?
Elsewhere on Emily Owens M.D., Emily is assigned to a deeply religious patient having a crisis of faith after surgery, while Will upsets Micah by breaking protocol over lab work.
Emily Owens M.D. airs Tuesday at 9:00 on The CW. You can check out a recap of the most recent episode here, as well as spoilers for upcoming episodes here.
Should Emily have told Tyra about the affair in the first place? Will finding out about what happened with the nurse be the thing that dissuades Tyra from coming out? Can Emily and Tyra's friendship survive its first real test?
