Hey folks! Cory Barker here, hopefully you've enjoyed my Emmy Awards predictions all week. Tonight, we all find out if I had any idea what I was talking about. That's the right, the Emmy Awards air tonight on NBC. To supplement the surely amazing awards ceremony, I'll be here all night live-blogging the Emmy Awards, and I do hope you can join me. We can all sigh when Jon Cryer wins, scoff at NBC's incessant programming for The Event and feel bad for Jimmy Fallon because he's stuck hosting this thing.
Heading into tonight, there are a few categories we should all be looking forward to. Though the series categories aren't overwhelmingly exciting (I can't imagine Mad Men losing Outstanding Drama can you?), a number of the acting races feel a little more exciting than in the last few years. In the leading categories, can the three two-time repeat winners (Alec Baldwin, Glenn Close and Bryan Cranston) all make it number three?
Other things to consider before the Emmy Awards gets going:
- Can Lost actually win anything important in its final season? (My prediction: probably not)
- Who will win the much-discussed Glee-Modern Family showdown? (My prediction: the latter takes it)
- Will the telecast be remotely interesting? (At least as interesting as Fallon's impressions on America's Got Talent?)
Sound off with your Emmy predictions below!
I'll be here around 7:30pm eastern time (the event begins at 8), join me! This year the Emmy Awards are being broadcast by NBC.
BORING and LAME! WORTHLESS!
Great job, Cory!
