American Dad Renewed By Fox

It's a good day in Langley Falls for Stan Smith and company because American Dad has been renewed for its 7th season, according to Deadline.com. Dad joins Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, and The Simpsons as Animated Domination shows that will be returning for the 2011-12 season. Its renewal, however, kind of creates a logjam on Sunday nights, as Fox has already picked up two animated shows (Napoleon Dynamite and Allen Gregory) and the fate of Bob's Burgers has yet to be decided. Expect a lot of time slot shifting and sharing, as well as liberal use of the 7:30 slot once football has completed (if there's even football next season).

American Dad tells the story of conservative CIA agent Stan Smith, his ditzy wife Francine, liberal activist daughter Hayley, and nerdy son Steve, along with escaped alien Roger and talking goldfish Klaus. It's probably the quietest of the four AD comedies, but it continually performs and actually hasn't collapsed since being moved to 7:30. The show will have enough episodes to continue airing into the 2012-13 television season, so even if this renewal is the show's last, there'll be new episodes for a long time to come.

Do you guys watch American Dad? How do you feel about it being renewed again? How long do you think the show can go?
