FOX has decided to go with early pick ups for their 2011 fall schedule with two new dramas and one comedy going to series.
First up is the previously untitled Bones spinoff, which is now called Finder, which will follow Walter Sherman (Geoff Stults), a 'finder' who specializes in locating anything and anyone that others have failed in trying to apprehend. Did President Obama all upon his services to find Bin Laden? Possibly. The character of Sherman and his colleagues Leo Knox (Michael Clarke Duncan) and Latulippe (Saffron Burrows) were introduced in the April 21st episode of Bones this season, so fans have a clear idea of who they're dealing with next season. The show will be based on Richard Greener's The Locator novels and will be overseen by Bones' show runner Hart Hanson.
Next is what some have considered FOX's most anticipated pilot in development, which was the J.J. Abrams produced Alcatraz, which comes from the mind of LOST writer Elizabeth Sarnoff and Bryan Wynbrandt. The show will follow a special group of FBI agents tasked to investigate the reappearance of a group of Alcatraz prisoners and guards after a 30 year absence. The show stars LOST's Jorge Garcia, Sam Neill, Sarah Jones, Parminder Nagra and Robert Forster as members of the elite team responsible for keeping track of the convicts and security guards. We think this show would go nicely with Fringe, but that thought will change once we see the final schedule next week.
In the comedy department, FOX has decided to go with New Girl and I Hate My Teenage Daughter as early pick ups. One comedy Iceland, will not make the cut.
New Girl stars Zooey Deschanel as a woman who moves in with three obnoxious men after a failed relationship with her ex-boyfriend. The comedy stars Max Greenfield, Damon Wayans, Jr., Hannah Simone, and Jake M. Johnson. Yes, Wayans is on ABC's Happy Endings, but according to Deadline, the actor will have a job next season one way or another and kudos to him for having a very iron clad back-up plan.
Lastly, there is I Hate My Teenage Daughter, which tells the tale of two female friends who discover that their teenage daughters have the same attitudes as the mean girls who tormented them in high school. The comedy will star Jamie Pressley, Katie Finneran, Kevin Rahm, Aisha Dee, Rosa Blasi, Kristi Lauren, Eric Sheffer Stevens, and Chad Coleman.
In other news, the comedy Breaking In and drama Human Target will not return next season.
What do you guys think about FOX's early pick-ups?

cannot believe I invested all my time into Chicago Code, to have it cancelled! this is a good show! I guess its too "different" to be given more time to find an audience! unlike the Jersey people, who are already famous for throwing up and std's!
I am sorry that they excluded Lie to Me on the Fox Schedule.
do you now whenn it is coming out
It Hate my Teenage Daughter should have been a program for the CW network instead of Fox. I thought that Fox wanted older viewers. That is why I liked Lie to Me. Also, Dollhouse should have a season three or Buffy the Vampire Slayer season eight. These shows appealed to more age groups.
I Hate My Teenage Daughter would be a good lead in for Glee. I wish that there could be more epsidoes of Lie to Me on Fox in the Spring.
How can Daman Wayans Junior be on two shows for two different networks? I do not think that it could happen. Why not let Daman Wayans be on New Girl instead of Daman Wayans Junior. That way maybe Eliza Dushku could be on Ringer. It would be a Buffy and Faith reunion without actually doing Buffy.
I loved Christian Slater in Breaking in, he was a great character, it's sad the show was cancelled.
I'm beginning to tire of Fox's tendencies toward purchasing great shows with the apparent intent of dumping them. How about keeping a show's time slot static so fans know when to tune in each week? Thanks to this deplorable behavior, R.I.P.
Medicine Ball
Space: Above and Beyond
Firefly
Human Target
Breaking In
and many others…
I am so upset that Breaking In looks to be cancelled! It was funny, and kept your attention through the entire show! The cast was great and anyone that watched it could relate to someone! My fingers are crossed that Fox brings back a great show!
