Fox Picks Up Kevin Williamson Drama, Mindy Kaling Comedy, The Goodwin Games, and Ned Fox Is My Manny

Fox has announced series pick-ups for several pilots for the 2012-2013 season:

The Following: Produced by The Vampire Diaries’ Kevin Williamson, this dark series stars Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy, with Natalie Zea and Maggie Grace co-starring in the pilot. It’s described as “an edge-of-your-seat thriller about the complex relationship between a diabolical serial killer (Purefoy) and the damaged FBI agent (Bacon) who took him down. After the killer escaped, the agent is reactivated and discovers that he is no longer just hunting one man, but a massive cult of serial killers created and manipulated during his time in prison.” The network has ordered 15 episodes of The Following.

Ned Fox Is My Manny: This comedy is written and directed by Dana Fox. The series stars Dakota Johnson, Nat Faxon, Lucy Punch, Maggie Jones and Echo Kellum. Johnson plays a single mother who gets childcare help when her brother (Faxon) moves in.

The Goodwin Games: This comedy series was created by How I Met Your Mother writers Carter Bays, Craig Thomas and Chris Harris. It stars Becki Newton, Scott Foley and Jake Lacy as three siblings who could inherit their late father’s fortune if they agree to his terms.

Mindy: From Office star Mindy Kaling, this comedy series stars Kaling as doctor who tries to navigate her personal and professional life. Ed Weeks, Chris Messina, Anna Camp, Zoe Jarmon and Dana DeLorenzo co-star, with Bill Hader, Ed Helms and Richard Schiff guest starring in the pilot.
