Fox to Have Kevin Bacon Hunt Serial Killers

With all the slasher movies out and shows like Dexter being so popular, serial killers are just so hot right now. As such, Fox is going to have a new show that has a man hunting them down.

It’s called The Following, and stars Kevin Bacon as an FBI agent tasked with hunting down serial killers all over the country. At least initially, there’s one that he’s going to be focusing on in particular. No, it’s not Dexter, but that would be awesome.

“When notorious serial killer JOE CARROLL (James Purefoy) escapes from death row and embarks on a new killing spree, the FBI calls former agent RYAN HARDY (Emmy Award nominee Kevin Bacon) to consult on the case. Having since withdrawn from the public eye, Hardy was responsible for Carroll’s capture in 2003, after Carroll murdered 14 female students on the Virginia college campus where he taught literature.”

The show also stars Shawn Ashmore, Natalie Zea and Annie Parisse. Ashmore you’ll recognize from X-Men, Zea from Justified and Parisse from Rubicon.

The Following will premiere January 21st, and if good, will be canceled by Fox four weeks later. Just kidding, it’s a cop show, so that gives it a full season automatically.Kevin Bacon alone might guarantee it two or three.
