Fox's 25th Anniversary: Network to Re-Air Special Episodes to Celebrate Milestone
Fox's 25th anniversary as a network is swiftly approaching and they're planning on cracking open the vault to celebrate the network's history.
One of Fox's most famous characters is Al Bundy, the patriarch on the long-running sitcom Married...With Children. The series premiered April 5, 1987 on FOX, with three half-hour broadcasts (7:00-7:30 PM, 8:00-8:30 PM and 9:00-9:30 PM) of the show's 'Pilot'episode. In the pilot, Al Bundy (Ed O'Neill) gets front row seats to a basketball game, but Peggy (Katey Sagal) makes him stay home and meet their new neighbors, Marcy (Amanda Bearse) and Steve Rhoades (David Garrison).
Fox plans to re-air the Married...With Children pilot on Sunday, April 22 from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m. ET/PT.
Meanwhile, The Simpsons originally premiered on January 14, 1990, but Springfield's most famous family had appeared on FOX for several years in a number of animated "shorts" as part of The Tracey Ullman Show. Fox will re-air the recent 500th episode, in which the Simpsons are evicted from Springfield and join an off-the-grid community outside of town, on April 22 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.
After these episodes air, Fox will be broadcasting an anniversary special, bringing together actors and scenes from some of Fox's most famous shows, including Married....With Children, In Living Color and That '70s Show.
Tune into Fox from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. ET/PT to take part in the 25th anniversary festivities.
