According to The Hollywood Reporter, Justin Long (Jeepers Creepers, Going the Distance) is set to guest star on the upcoming Fox sitcom New Girl. Long will be playing main character Jess' (Zooey Deschanel) music teacher (and potential love interest) in three episodes, starting in late October/early November. Long's last live action TV credit was a one-episode guest appearance on That 70's Show in 2006.

This is the second big piece of casting news about New Girl, following the departure of original cast member Damon Wayans, Jr. Wayans was set to play Coach, a former athlete turned trainer and one of the three roommates, but once his ABC comedy Happy Endings received a surprise pick-up in May, the actor couldn't continue on the show. Lamorne Morris will be brought in during episode 2 as Winston, a basketball player (and the newest roommate) returning from a stint in Europe.

New Girl stars Zooey Deschanel as Jess, a woman who moves in with three single guys after breaking up with a boyfriend. Co-starring in the Fox comedy are Max Greenfield, Jake Johnson, and Hannah Simone.

New Girl premieres Tuesday, September 20th at 9:00.
