The Mindy Project and Ben & Kate Picked Up for Full Seasons by FOX

The Mindy ProjectFOX has become the latest network to give additional episodes to its new fall shows. Getting the extension were The Mindy Project and Ben & Kate, the newest members of the FOX Tuesday comedy bloc. The former, starring The Office’s Mindy Kaling, has been given a full back-nine order, bringing its episode count this season to 22, while the latter received six additional episodes, making its first season 19 episodes in total.

On the next episode of Ben & Kate, the siblings find an envelope from 15 years ago containing the yearly scavenger hunt that their dad used to put on. The two enlist BJ, Tommy, and Maddie to help them finish the half-completed hunt, but it soon turns from a fun exercise in nostalgia to a full-on competitive venture. Who will come out on top?

On the next episode of The Mindy Project, Mindy meets a guy at a club while out with Shauna, while Danny busts a move, Jeremy puts the moves on somebody he shouldn’t, and Morgan makes an unexpected career move that could bring in some much needed extra cash. Will the latest guy to come into Mindy’s orbit be worth her time, or will it be another dating dead end?

FOX follows NBC in picking up freshman shows this season, as the Peacock has already given Revolution, Go On, and The New Normal full season orders. ABC and CBS have yet to issue any pick-ups, while The CW has yet to premiere any of its three new fall shows.

Ben & Kate airs Tuesdays at 8:30 on FOX, while The Mindy Project closing the night at 9:30. You can head to the TVOvermind FOX discussion forum here.

Are you watching The Mindy Project and/or Ben & Kate this season? How well do they fit in with Raising Hope and New Girl in the Tuesday line-up? Where would you like to see each go, in terms of story, now that they have the extra episodes to play with?
