Fringe to Explore Gene the Cow's Dreams

Is this too good to be true, or is it a sign that Fringe is finally going a little too crazy?

October 27th will be a Wednesday -- that's not usually the day to catch Fringe. However, rabid fans of the smartest show on television will be getting their own very special dose of the series that day, with a new issue of the Fringe comic book hitting shelves. The DC-published Tales from the Fringe will release its fifth issue, which features a very, very unusual protagonist: "Gene! Walter's lab cow. Known mostly for the fresh milk she provides the science team - this issue explores Gene's dreams. Between cadaverous puzzles and a beautiful mermaid hell-bent on revenge, you'll see sides of Gene you never expected."

Tales from the Fringe's previous four issues revolved around Peter, Broyles, Astrid, and Nina, while November's issue will center around Olivia.

Check back to TVOvermind fairly soon for information on how to pre-order the entire six-issue run of Tales from the Fringe in one paperback volume.

Fringe's next episode, "Do Shapeshifters Dream of Electric Sheep?" will air on Thursday, October 14. The show will then take a break for NCLS baseball, and then return on November 11 with episode 3.05, "Amber 31422." Sounds like a long break, but at least we've got Gene the cow to keep us company.
