FOX has released a group of cast pics from Fringe season 2, and very conspicuous by his presence is thought-he-was-fired Kirk Acevedo as Charlie.  Were FOX and Acevedo playing with our minds about that whole firing thing, or is the network turning lemons into lemonade by pulling an about face on Acevedo?  And whose shadow is that?

As cast pics go, this group of photographs of the Fringe cast offer only a few interesting details.  First is the notable inclusion of “They done did your boy wrong” Kirk Acevedo.  He is either back as a regular on Fringe, or FOX wants us to believe that.  Either way, it looks like his famous emoting on FaceBook may have been a slight diva moment, but we are happy to know that Charlie is coming back – Acevedo has a great character there and he would be missed from Fringe.

Another interesting item is that in the complete cast pic, Joshua Jackson is prominently featured at the head of the pack.   While Jackson has always been billed as a star of Fringe, it was Olivia, played by Anna Torv, who received top billing in the stories. With Fringe expected to take a radical new approach in the wake of the parallel dimension reveal from last season, it may be possible that Jackson’s Peter is going to have more presence as a lead character.  Very few of the season one episodes utilized Peter as the center of the A story.

The only other interesting image, possibly, is the shadow that appears on the doors behind the main characters. The shadow appears to be slightly different in each image, which could indicate there is a secret message in the images, not unlike how Fringe hid a message in the commercial break bumpers of season one.  What do you see?

Very nice. Happy to see that they're changing it around just a little. And I'm liking the shadow too…could it be the Observer? Maybe someone from the parallel world? William Bell? Very interesting — I haven't enjoyed browsing promo pics this much in a while.

Hello, nice pics. The shadow behind Peter is very different, the possibility of the real father from "Over there" is looking for his son, very interesting!!!

Could the shadows be their other world selves? I know in Peter's case that's impossible but I always thought that the "Other Walter" that our Walter saw in the mental hospital was the man who's son he stole.

    Confusing much???

I think Peter is in the middle because he is a conduit of sorts between the 2 realities. As far as Charlie: I think his supposed firing was a ruse. Perhaps our Charlie dies or something, and the alternate-reality Charlie (with the scar on his face) comes over to our side.
