A newbie like Alicia Witt who has worked for 20 years? Yeah that'll save them money. And Leonard Nimoy. He can't be working on the cheap.

Am I the only one that doesn't think that Kirk Acevedo was out of line to say what happened to him on his facebook page? It isn't tantrumy or whatever.

I don't think there are any evil producers dancing on Acevedo's grave only that they made a bad decision in letting him go. Should have developed his character. It made the most sense.

We can certainly agree on that. But as far as accusations go, it's plain english. I don't know why anybody would want to admit to being fired, it's typically not flattering for the firee. People are accusing the fringe producers of playing semantics, he has already admitted as much himself. The point is, even Kirk is saying he wasn't fired. The rug was pulled out from under him, for sure - and it's not pretty. Was he wronged, or the victim of tough decisions? Nothing indicates that there was a conspiracy to harm him.

A newbie who has worked for 20 years? Alicia Witt aint cheap. And that's who they're saying they're after. I don't think it makes sense either. And then there's Leonard Nimoy who I"m sure aint doing this on the cheap. Am I the only one who didn't think Kirk was tantruming or screaming or throwing a fit. All accusations leveled against him by the blogger. Read to me like he told the world that he got fired and didn't like it. He's allowed.

And i don't think the producers are evil just that they made a really bad decision to not develop his character.

Unfortunately, in the world of TV that is how the ball rolls. As a seasoned actor you have to get used to characters getting cut and so forth. Most actors openly agree that part of the job is moving on to the next roll. And this season has been the worst, with networks reeling from the financial chaos and making all sorts of budget cuts to all sorts of shows. I think the blogger is right, and that Kirk's being a bit of a drama queen (drama king?) about it all. I understand that its popular these days with fans to see such an intimate side of their favorite actors and such on Twitter and Facebook, but that doesn't mean that its the professional thing to do. I also don't think it will stop any time soon either. Its the new trend and fans love it!

As I said above, I'll miss Kirk on the show tremendously, and really do hope Fox reconsiders. At the same time I look forward to Kirk's next project will definitely be watching him in whatever he does next.

he also did a good job at making Olivia seem human! I love the show, but her character can seem so flat sometimes, and Kirk's character was the only one that has been able to add a "real person" flare to Olivia. Why couldn't they have canned the stupid lab assistant chick? (her character's stupid, IMO, not the actress)

Well here's an example: The role of Ruby on Supernatural went from Katie Cassidy to Genevieve Cortese. Why? They could not afford Katie. Charlie is a lynch-pin character, they need to introduce a new one to replace him, so they will hire a newbie at a smaller salary. Again, Kirk has some damn good credits - I cannot imagine he was working for scale.

This things happen all the time folks. As fans we want to react like Kirk - from the gut and not the head - and scream about how they've done us wrong, but that's not the case. Every show has been hit this season, what makes you think that next season is any different? What makes more sense, an evil executive wringing his hands over finally 'bagging that Acevedo guy,' or producers being forced to make hard decisions in even harder times?

huh? "No doubt the production passed on Acevedo because of mounting pressure in the industry to bring budgets down. Fringe has already moved its production to Vancouver, cutting a cast member or two seems like painfully natural next steps."

Uhhhh.... if they're cutting cast members, then why did they put out a casting call for a female FBI agent, as a possible series regular? (http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/35387121.html. Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to add the link.)

Something else is going on with that! and Dang! I really liked Charlie !
