Mythology hungry Fringe fans could call the second season thus far "Story Momentum Deferred." Luckily after last week, we've been brought somewhat up to date. It seems that in the universe of Fringe there are strange 'invaders' from a parallel dimension - which is remarkable similar to ours, except for its pop-culture - that may just want to declare war on us. Wait, we already knew that... didn't we? Yep. You aren't imagining things.
So far, Fringe's second season has done a reasonably good job of stalling us with quaint little diversions, but not much else. Like, for instance, the shape-shifter that communicates with agents in the other dimension through a magical mirror in a dirty room at the back of a typewriter shop; and, the bowling alley desk clerk who is supposed to help Olivia deal with the after-effects of her inter dimensional road trip. His Joe Montegna impersonation is dead on, the story time he occupies is just... dead.
There is hope, sports fans. Tonight, Leonard Nimoy reprises his role as William Bell in flash back sequences. Yes, Olivia will finally remember her meeting with the mysterious scientist. So far, from the previews, we know that he will tell Olivia about her ability. So there is hope that the mythology will finally have caught up with the episode 'Ability' of last season. Maybe, if we're lucky, it will actually move forward a little too.
