Tonight we are going to see the conclusion of the spectacular season 3 of FOX’s cult show Fringe. Peter confronts his destiny and a beloved team member meets an untimely death in “The Day We Died”.
Last week’s episode “The Last Sam Weiss” shed some light on who exactly the mysterious bowling alley owner, Sam Weiss, is. He comes from a family of people who are supposed to protect the knowledge about the machine and both universes and he was the one who gave the answer as to how to stop the machine. Walternate had activated it from the other side and it was causing quite a bit of mass destruction in our universe. They eventually figured out that the “crowbar” that could stop the machine was actually Olivia, which makes me think that they are exact opposites.
So Olivia stopped the machine using her telekinesis ability and that allowed Peter to go into the mysterious device and activate it himself. Before he did that, though, Olivia told him she loved him, which only makes me fear that something is going to go terribly wrong. As soon as the machine was activated, Peter was catapulted to the future and the circumstances are less than ideal there, as people are calling it “the end of days”.
This season finale is shaping up to be quite the event, if the movie trailer they produced is anything to go by. You can check out a new promo and a couple of sneak peeks below.
