FX announced today that it has renewed original drama series Sons of Anarchy for a fourth season of thirteen episodes.
The Katey Sagal, Charlie Hunnam and Ron Perlman-fronted show leads all scripted cable series in the coveted 18-49 demographic this year, according to the press release. Some also feel that Sagal was robbed of critical acclaim at the recent Emmy Awards for her performance as matriarch Gemma Teller Morrow.
“Sons of Anarchy is the most popular show FX has ever had, and the #1 series in basic cable for our key demographic. It is also one of the best, most original series on television,” said FX president John Landgraf. “FX is grateful to Kurt Sutter and his team of writers, actors, directors and crew for working so hard to make a show that achieves both those levels of success. We congratulate them and look forward to season four.”
The release also provides valuable programming information for fans regarding the show's currently-airing third season: "Eight all-new episodes remain in SOA’s current third season airing Tuesdays at 10pm ET/PT, and beginning in two weeks the encore runs will air Tuesdays at 11pm and 1am, Fridays at 10pm and Sundays at 10pm. The third season finale will air on Tuesday, November 30."
What do you think, fans? Happy to have another season of Anarchy?
Most definitely! It's one of the few good shows left on network television and i'm happy to see the family stay together. The show is wonderful with decent plots, GREAT acting and the characters have great chemistry with each other. I'm thrilled to see at least one show makes it through that I enjoy.
I Love SOA . The writing is tight and well scripted. The acting flawless…
