Game of Thrones: First Season 3 Poster Announces Premiere Date

When we last visited Westeros in the Game of Thrones season 2 finale, Sam was hiding from a group of wights, Daenerys had made some new plans for her future, and Sansa had been cast aside by Joffrey in favor of Margaery Tyrell.

Today, HBO released the first official poster for season 3.  Unfortunately, there’s no photos of the characters we’ve grown to love or a first look at the new characters that will appear next year.  At least, not yet.  Instead, the poster reveals the season 3 premiere date: March 31, 2013.

The third season will be based on the first half of the novel A Storm of Swords and the entire novel will likely be split into two seasons due to its length.
