Tonight on Game of Thrones: The Greyjoys Have a Plan and Tyrion Tries to Restore Order
Game of Thrones returned for its second season last week and with the stellar ratings that it garnered, I wouldn't be surprised if HBO announced a third season renewal soon. But before we can even think about a third season, there's still so much story to get through in season 2. What's in store for tonight? We've got some hints for you:
Arya: After appearing in the last few moments of the season 2 premiere, Arya Stark has a far bigger role in tonight's Game of Thrones. While traveling north with the others in her caravan, she finds herself bonding with Gendry, a Night's Watch recruit who is also (unknowingly) important to the political turmoil in King's Landing. After King Joffrey's soldiers stumble upon the group while searching for Gendry, Arya reveals an important secret to him.
Cersei and Tyrion: Back in King's Landing, Tyrion lays into Cersei for the recent massacre of King Robert's bastards, thinking that his sister had given the order. But is she the one to blame for the deaths, or is there another culprit? Meanwhile, Tyrion comes to realize that he may be Hand of the King, but he still needs to watch his step in the capital among some of his "allies". Regardless of his hesitance, he still makes changes in order to ensure that order is maintained. Cersei is still concerned about Jaime's safety in the Stark encampment and sends her cousin back to the Starks with instructions for a potential brokering of peace.
Jon, Sam and the Night's Watch: The men of the Night's Watch are still enjoying Craster's dubious hospitality, but Sam's big heart could get them in trouble with their host.
The Greyjoys: Theon finally reunites with his father (Balon) after nine years as a Stark ward. But while he went to his father to recruit him to help the Starks, Balon has his own plans to restore the former glory of his family. Theon also gets an unexpected surprise when he learns who may have supplanted him in the family hierarchy.
Stannis and Melisandre: Stannis comes to a realization of his own power while he and his brother Renly are at odds. Meanwhile, Melisandre is determined to become everything to Stannis and sets out to prove that they should be true partners. In order to help Stannis, Davos recruits pirate Salladhor Saan to help in a naval battle.
