According to People Magazine, Springfield, 63, will return for multiple episodes of the soap opera. His son, Liam Springthorpe will make his GH debut as an undercover cop.
As of yet, the two will reportedly not share any scenes.
Springfield played Dr. Noah Drake on the soap from 1981-83 and 2005-08, and was last seen in March of 2012. As he told the magazine, his character has had a lot to deal with since:
“He lost his wife and became a drunk and regretted all these terrible, sinful ways and then cleaned his act up when he almost died from the alcohol,” says Springfield. “Now he disappears all the time, going to Doctors Without Borders and going around the world helping people. I guess he’s gone from a drunk to being incredibly altruistic.”
He also mentions that he is looking forward to seeing his former costars again.
No doubt, the rock star’s return is a part of the show’s upcoming 50th anniversary (April 1, 2013). Kin Shriner and Jack Wagner are among the many others who are reprising their roles, and John Stamos recently confirmed a meeting with the show’s producers, though he ultimately turned down the part presented to him.
