Santana was nearly suspended in this week's episode of Glee after slapping Finn in the previous episode. But he stepped in and convinced Principal Figgins that the slap was just a fake. In exchange for not getting her suspended, Finn wanted Santana and the Troubletones to join the glee club. When prompted about why he was helping her, Finn told Santana that she was the first girl he slept with and he cared about her. Despite the fact that she was getting outed, he didn't want her to become depressed about being gay. Which is why he encouraged the glee club to sing female-empowerment songs for the week. While Santana's parents accepted her being gay, her grandmother disowned her.
Quinn tried to get back in Puck's good graces, but he was refused all of her sexual overtones. Instead, Shelby caved and ended up sleeping with Puck when he helped her after Beth suffered a small injury. But she quickly realized it was a mistake and sent him away.
Election day also came to McKinley High. Kurt was the winner of the student election, but Figgins realized that someone had rigged it. So he ended up losing the election and faced suspension. Rachel admitted to Finn that she rigged the election so Kurt would win and ended up getting suspended and couldn't complete at Sectionals. Meanwhile, Sue also lost her own election to Burt Hummel.
A new episode of Glee will be airing on December 6. Chord Overstreet will be returning as Sam when Finn recruits him to compete at Sectionals. Sam will also be striving to impress Mercedes when he meets up with her again. And Tina steps in to defend Mike Chang when his dreams of pursuing music and dance are threatened.
Updated: Watch the Troubletones perform a mash-up of "I Will Survive" and "Survivor" for Sectionals here.
