I don't know about the rest of you, but I absolutely adored last night's season finale of Glee. Yes, it was a bit over emotional, but it also had Josh Freaking Groban (who seriously needs to become my new boyfriend stat), a bitchy Olivia Newton-John, a nice Sue Sylvester (now I'm all confused...) and, most of all, the best birth scene in the history of television. If Jonathan Groff had to go out on a high note at the end of his guest stint, then his ridiculously amazing rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody, intercut with Quinn's birth scene, was more than I had ever hoped for. Sorry, Glee kids, but after that performance even I wanted Vocal Adrenaline to win (but you guys totally should have won second place!).
It's a long, empty summer with no new Glee in store (although, it will be coming to Comic Con this year!), but the spoilers for season 2 are already pouring in. For example, prepare for some new characters and guest stars:
E!Online reports that John Stamos (yes, Uncle Jesse!) will be making a guest appearance as Carl Howell, Emma's dentist. Remember how she said she had been dating her dentist in finale last night? It looks like Stamos will be making an appearance as her boyfriend. Will he and Will have to engage in a sing-off to determine who will win fair Emma's heart? Fingers crossed! EW reports that Susan Boyle might also be making an appearance (which was rumored a little while ago) and now creator Ryan Murphy reveals they have plans to introduce a few new high school characters:
[Murphy] and producers are also looking to add some new members to the club, including a boyfriend for Kurt. “I just want him to be an everyday dude,” says Murphy. “And I want him to be sort of struggling [with his sexuality] and Kurt helps him deal with it and in the process they fall for each other.” Also look for a potential love interest for Mercedes and a Carrie Underwood-esque, Christian country singer who will be a rival to Rachel. “When people hear we’re going to do that, they will expect that we’re making fun of her,” says Murphy. “We’re not. The show is about inclusiveness and about giving voices to a lot of people.”
Also, expect two more tribute episodes and a season-long goal to get to Nationals:
“The Madonna episode was so popular, I think I’m gonna do two tribute episodes — one in the fall and one in the spring — and we’re figuring out who those artists are.”
“I know that season two ends with Nationals in New York. I don’t know if they’ll make it — we haven’t figured that out.”
