Glee is tackling the holidays this week in their midseason finale.  New Directions is coming off a win at Sectionals in last week's new episode (read the full review).  When Shelby's Troubletones lost Sectionals, Quinn asked Santana, Mercedes and Brittany to re-join the glee club, so the gang is together once again.  Sam is also back at McKinley and has made his interest in Mercedes known.  He's fully determined to snatch her from her current football boyfriend and win her heart once again.

On the December 13 episode of Glee, entitled "Extraordinary Merry Christmas", New Directions will commit to two separate events: one is a televised Christmas special, while the other involves performing for a homeless shelter that Sue volunteers at.  When it turns out that both events take place on the same date, New Directions will be forced to choose between the high profile gig and helping those less fortunate.
