Glee Promo: New Episodes Return in January! Plus, Is Someone Proposing?

GleeLet's be honest, Glee has gone downhill in quality since its first season. The show has just been unable to find the certain je ne sais quoi that made it really fun when it first started. But, despite being OK lately, Glee really went off the deep end with its midseason finale/Christmas episode.

Christmas had come to McKinley High and Sue asked the glee club to sing at a local homeless shelter. The only problem is that Will also announced that New Directions had been hired to perform in a televised Christmas special. Will had volunteered Artie as the director and while he didn't want to "sell out" for television, he and the rest of the kids decided to take on the job. Unfortunately, this is where the episode went off the rails. While Blaine and Kurt were adorable in their 1950s style rendition of "Let It Snow", the rest of this Christmas special made absolutely no sense. All of this culminated in gift-grabbing Rachel and the rest of New Directions learned about the true meaning of Christmas and performing at the shelter, despite the fact that it conflicted with the TV special.

In truth, the last episode of Glee - where New Directions won Sectionals - should have acted as the midseason finale and this episode should probably never have happened. But let's move on from this unpleasantness and look to the future. Glee returns with new episodes in January. Will makes the announcement that he'll be proposing to Emma, Finn makes an announcement of his own that he might join the army and Sam decides to slick his hair.
