Gossip Girl Shockers: CeCe Has a Surprise for Ivy & Carol Drops a Bombshell
Well, it looks like the Gossip Girl producers have found a way to expose Ivy and still have her stick around the Upper East Side.
Last week, after CeCe was taken into the hospital, Charlie (a.k.a. Ivy Dickens) was actually outed as a fraud. Lola's (a.k.a. the real Charlotte Rhodes) new friendship with Nate had her realize that Ivy has been impersonating her at the request of her mother, Carol. The van der Woodsen women learned that Ivy has been lying to them all along and Serena and Lily were furious at both Ivy and Carol for their deception.
CeCe's wake took place in this week's Gossip Girl and Ivy showed up at CeCe's request, despite Serena and Lily ordering her to leave. Billy Baldwin returned as William van der Woodsen and revealed that he is the executor of CeCe's estate. While the Rhodes sisters bickered over items from CeCe's estate, William decided to sit the women down to read out the will. A few pieces here and there were distributed to some family members, but CeCe managed to surprise everyone by leaving the bulk of her estate to none other than Ivy Dickens. That's right, not only has Ivy inherited a huge estate, but CeCe also knew exactly who she was, since she used Ivy's real name in her will. Lily and Serena were predictably upset over this unexpected turn of events, but the good news is that they're both independently wealthy.
Only it turns out that Lily's Manhattan apartment actually belonged to CeCe and Ivy has decided to assert herself as CeCe's beneficiary and told Lily and Rufus to vacate the building. Now they're headed out to Brooklyn to live in Rufus' loft.
But Carol is furious about the turn of events and told William that if he can't get her CeCe's money, then she'll have to resort to drastic measures. What might those be? Well, for one, she plans on demanding child support from Lola's father. And who might that be? None other than William van der Woodsen himself! As it turns out, they had an affair when he was married to Lily and he had no idea he was the father of Carol's daughter. William is apparently keeping the truth a secret for now, but he did reach out to Lola, suggesting they take an opportunity to get to know one another.
Gossip Girl is currently on hiatus until April 2. Watch a trailer for the show's return here.

Im unclear on one thing altho it was covered.. Did Cece HONESTLY know that Charlie was "Ivy Dickens?" because near the end, Charlie still seemed to pretend they were blood related, even if it was guilt driven not money motivated. But at the end Sarinas DAD says that she knew at the end, (or was it charlie/Ivy that said that? anyway…)
