It will be New Years Eve when Gossip Girl returns from its hiatus on Monday, January 16 with a new episode. Two months have passed since the car crash Blair and Chuck were in in the midseason finale. Instead of picking up right where the action left off (with Blair and Chuck being brought into the hospital), the show will tell the aftermath of the crash through flashbacks. From what we can tell, Blair woke up from the accident rather quickly, although many fans, including myself, are speculating that she may have lost the baby. But Chuck is a different story.
When Lily delivers an update to Serena and her friends, she's obviously very worried about Chuck. But...spoiler!....Chuck totally survives the accident, guys. We know he does because he's in the photos for the January 16 and January 23 episodes (here and here). But the biggest casualty of the January 16 episode of Gossip Girl might be Chuck and Blair's relationship.
Gossip Girl producers appear in a short preview to introduce this upcoming episode. "One of our characters is not in this episode that's been in every single episode. And you'll find out why" they said. Who could that be? We know from photos and the scenes in the video that Serena, Chuck, Blair, Dan and Nate all appear. Is Charlie missing? It might make sense since she left New York at the end of the last episode after confessing her secret to Rufus. In fact, Lily is concerned about her missing niece and hires a PI to track her down. Or could it be someone else?

I bet Gossip Girl is the charecter not in the episode.
It's got to be either Gossip Girl or Blair. It can't be Charlie- she's not been in half of the episodes let alone each season! On IMDB.. Blair & Gossip Girl (Kristen Bell) are the only 2 characters to have 109 episodes, to the other main characters 111 (Dan, Serena, Chuck, Rufus, Lily & Nate)! So they are my guess!
It can't be Blair, because Blair's in the promo, worried about Chuck in the hospital and she's also in the photos shopping for a wedding dress. Gossip Girl is a safer bet. Unless they just meant "every single episode" THIS season, in which case I'd have to go back and check to see when Charlie first reappeared.
