It's been a rather romantically tumultuous time for those in Gossip Girl over the past few weeks, so will this Valentine's Day themed episode continue this streak? Not if Blair (Leighton Meester) has anything to do with it; despite her own loveless marriage she is determined to play cupid and reunite a former couple.
Blair has her sights set upon getting Serena (Blake Lively) and Dan (Penn Badgley) back together and wants to use Nate's (Chace Crawford) Valentine's bash as the perfect venue for this scheme. Blair knows that Serena is in love with her old boyfriend and Blair believes she can reignite Dan's feelings for Serena. This might be why several of the characters (not Blair) are dressed in variations of their old school uniforms, as this is where Dan and Serena fell in love. It will probably take more than old school attire for Dan to forget how he feels about Blair, and Dan could see this romantically charged evening as the perfect place to open up his heart after he failed to do so last week. It would seem like many of you would like to see Dan and Serena back together per our poll which you can still take part in here.
Chuck (Ed Westwick) last week offered to pay the dowry to get Blair out of her marriage to Louis (Hugo Becker) an offer which Blair turned down which means unless there is some legal loophole they can find; Blair will have to remain married to Louis for one year. This obstacle may be there but Chuck is still wrestling with his feelings for Blair and he is unlikely to give up so easily. As these promo photos show Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg) will attempt to stir up more drama by crashing the party and will be showing something to Chuck; is she trying to get a reaction from Chuck to create a story for her new Gossip Girl role?
As suspected, it was revealed last week that Georgina has only been Gossip Girl since the real Gossip Girl abandoned ship after Chuck and Blair's car accident. The real Gossip Girl is still out there and Georgina is finding it hard to maintain the original level of scandal on the site and she wants to score a huge scoop. The big piece of information she has is who sent the video of Blair and Chuck during the wedding; is this the kind of scandal she wants or is she looking for something bigger?
Nate is also hoping for some romance this evening after his last few disastrous relationships and he continues his charm offensive on Lola (Ella Rae Peck). Lola is of course the real Charlotte Rhodes and is seemingly unaware that she has been catering at parties with her family members in attendance; does her mother have no family photos at home? Lola seems intrigued by Nate but wary of him also; she does after all have a rule to not date guys with the names Troy, Luke or Nate. Is this relationship doomed before it can begin as Charlie (Kaylee DeFer) will be making a return at some point? There is also the issue of a power balance as Nate has the ability to engineer an encounter with Lola by hiring the catering company that she works for, which could be making Lola more uncertain of becoming involved with Nate.
