Tonight on Gossip Girl: Blair Tries to Understand Chuck's New Good Side (Sneak Peeks)

Gossip Girl Season 5 Episode 9At the end of last week's Gossip Girl, Blair (Leighton Meester) realized that Chuck's (Ed Westwick) good guy act wasn't an act after all. In tonight's episode she tries to figure out the key to this change, as she wants to save Louis (Hugo Becker) from the bad guy that he has become. We will also see the return of the Rhodes matriarch Cece (Caroline Lagerfelt) who is having a Studio 54 party being thrown in her honor. This is sure to bring out some fabulous fashion and disturb some deep and dark secrets that one Rhodes women (who isn't really a Rhodes woman) is trying to keep hidden.

Blair is determined to find the key to Louis' virtue that he possessed when she first met him and has since disappeared since his time on the Upper East Side. Dorota (Zuzanna Szadkowski) suggests in the sneak peek below that perhaps Louis 'Freaky Friday' with Chuck and this prompts Blair's quest to get into Chuck's mind. This is a recipe for disaster and broken hearts as it is clear that Chuck is still in love with Blair; will this put Blair's wedding in jeopardy? Or is Blair the key to why Louis is behaving in a scheming manner, will his virtue be returned if their relationship ends? Chuck of course began on this path when Dan (Penn Badgley) gifted him with a dog; maybe Louis needs his very own Monkey. It also seems that the unhappy path to Blair's wedding is not a good sign for a happy marriage and that this whole thing has divorce/runaway bride written all over it. Figuring out what caused Chuck's change of attitude is not likely to change this impending doom.

Gossip Girl Season 5 Episode 9Charlie (Kaylee DeFer) is also trying to stop a disaster from occurring as she has to deal with her ex Max (Brian J. Smith), who is not only blackmailing Charlie for $500,000 but has also started dating Serena (Blake Lively). This all happens to coincide with the return of Cece Rhodes who is attending a lavish Studio 54 party with her family. This promises to produce some fabulous 70s fashion and big hair but will Charlie be able to keep her real identity under wraps?

Another person facing a family dilemma is Nate (Chace Crawford), who begins his new position at the Spectator after Diana (Elizabeth Hurley), was ousted from the job last week. The first scandal that Nate is given to report on is about a congressman's wife who is having an affair; the trouble is it is the wife of his cousin Tripp van der Bilt (Aaron Tveit). We met Tripp in season 3 when he had an affair with Serena so infidelity is not new in this relationship, but how will Nate handle a story that involves a family member? If Nate does run with the story will this impact on his new job that his grandfather effectively got him?

After the embarrassment of being a drunken mess at Blair's bridal shower last week, Dan turns his attention to the online haters of his book on Twitter and Amazon. Instead of ignoring it he decides to go head to head with his critics but under an assumed alias and there will be a big surprise when he discovers who his biggest hater is. Is this all just an attempt to distract from his feelings for Blair as her wedding day approaches?
