The season finale of Grey's Anatomy is set to air on May 17, but before the season ends, we have the penultimate episode airing this week, which features the residents making some big decisions about their future.

The official episode synopsis from ABC says that in this week's episode, titled "Migration": The residents determine their future as they make their final decisions regarding post residency positions; Mark admits to Derek that he is torn between his love for Lexie and the fact that Julia can give him everything he's ever wanted; Ben plans something extra special for Bailey, but she is preoccupied with her work; and Arizona encourages her childhood friend, Nick, to have surgery. Meanwhile a couple on their third honeymoon come to the hospital complaining of mysterious symptoms.

Grey's Anatomy Sneak Peeks: The Residents Must Make Decisions About Their Futures

The big moment for the residents is coming in this week's all new episode of Grey's Anatomy: it's time to take their oral boards.

Here's what you can expect from this week's episode, appropriately titled "Moment of Truth": After eight years of practice, the residents head to San Francisco for their oral boards; sparks fly between Catherine and Richard when they bump into each other at the hotel; Bailey intervenes after Owen and Teddy get into a heated argument about their young car crash patient; and Mark tries to recruit Lexie for one of his cases. Meanwhile, the residents are all abuzz when interviews for their post-residency positions at prospective hospitals begin, but Cristina ends up the highest in demand.  Loretta Devine will also be guest starring Adele Webber and Richard comes to an "unsettling realization" when he goes to visit Adele at Rose Ridge.

Grey's Anatomy Sneak Peeks: Vanessa Marano Guest Stars as a Jane Doe

Grey's Anatomy is all new next week.  In the episode, titled "Support System", Mark (Eric Dane) will be taking the lead role of chief, although only for one day. Dr. Sloan will be butting heads with Richard (James Pickens, Jr.) over a patient's liver transplant.

While Mark’s taking care of things over at Seattle Grace, Owen (Kevin McKidd) finds himself having to confront Christina (Sandra Oh) about his affair after she demands the truth about what he did.  Callie (Sarah Ramirez) deems Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) ready for the boards, while the rest of the residents continue to stress about the exam.

And we all know Teddy (Kim Raver) has been having a hard time after her husband's death.  Thankfully, Callie, Arizona (Jessica Capshaw), and Bailey (Chanda Wilson) have planned a girls' night in this episode.  After all she’s been through, a night with the girls might be just what she needs.

Grey's Anatomy Sneak Peeks: Callie, Arizona and Bailey Recruit Teddy for a Ladies' Night

Grey's Anatomy returns from a short hiatus this week with an all new episode.  While Meredith, Derek and Zola are driving through Seattle, discussing the new renovations, they're shocked to see a lion walking the streets.  It turns out that one got loose and it's going to wreak some havoc, landing a couple in the hospital.

There's also some relationship drama to be found within the walls of Seattle Grace when Lexie overhears Mark discussing the possibility of moving in with Julia.  Teddy is also trying to come to terms with Henry's recent death and uses this episode as an opportunity to take some steps to heal from the tragedy.  Callie succumbs to some jealousy and interrogates Arizona about her past sexual relationships.

Meanwhile, Alez realizes that she's becoming far too dependent on Morgan, so she requests to be removed from his preemie case at the hospital.  Finally, the tension between Cristina and Owen reaches its peak and Meredith steps in and tries to be supportive for Cristina.

Grey's Anatomy Sneak Peeks: A Lion Roams The Streets and Meredith Tries to Support Cristina

Grey's Anatomy returns from a min-hiatus on April 5 with an episode titled "The Lion Sleeps Tonight".  Take that episode title slightly literally, because it turns out that a lion escapes and runs rampant through Seattle, causing injuries to a couple who get brought to Seattle Grace Hospital.  But with their lives - and relationship - at risk, will they be able to pull through?

Meanwhile, the lion isn't the only drama in the episode.  Mark debates moving in with Julia and Lexie overheads him discussing the possibility.  Teddy is slowly taking steps to come to terms with Henry's death, while Callie interrogates Arizona on her past relationships and lovers.  Alex comes to the realization that she's becoming too dependent on Morgan, so she request to be taken off of his preemie case.  Finally, Meredith tries to be supportive for Cristina when her relationship with Owen is strained to the breaking point.

Grey's Anatomy Photo Preview: Will Mark Move in With Julia?

It's no surprise that “tension” will be in the air in the upcoming Grey's Anatomy episode airing April 5th. The current chief of Seattle Grace, Dr. Hunt (Kevin McKidd), who has been going through some hard patches in his marriage to Dr. Yang (Sandra Oh), now adds a bigger challenge of his recent confession to having had an "affair". In the following episode of Grey's Anatomy on April 12, titled "Support System", Mark will be taking the lead role of chief. Now hold your excitement, because this will be a one day position. Dr. Sloan will take his position very seriously and I’m hoping for some comedic fun.  We all know it wouldn’t be Mark if he didn’t use some of that charm to his advantage.

While Mark’s taking care of things over at Seattle Grace, Owen finds himself having to confront Christina  about his said “affair”.  I wouldn’t want to be in his shoes, because he’s got some serious explaining to do.

It looks like we're in for an emotional episode of Grey's Anatomy this week, which will include guest stars Loretta Devine and Summer Glau.

The February 23 episode of Grey's Anatomy, titled "If Only You Were Lonely", features Adele's Alzheimers getting progressively worse. Richard debates the merits of changing their living arrangements in order to get Adele the help she needs. Callie reaches out to Meredith and decides to mentor her while she's studying for her boards. Lexie decides to join Arizona and Alex in pediatrics while they care for intern Morgan's premature baby. Jackson reaches the end of his rope and snaps at a patient so Mark suggests he find other ways to relieve his stress. And ABC warns that "Cristina lets her suspicions get the best of her".

We're coming up on the next big holiday after Christmas: Valentine's Day.  A lot of television shows will be having Valentine's Day-themed episodes and Grey's Anatomy is no exception.

This week's episode of Grey's Anatomy is titled after the classic Beatles' "All You Need is Love".  Here's how ABC describes the episode: "In the spirit of Valentine's Day, Meredith and Derek try to have a night to themselves when Lexie offers to watch Zola; Callie hands babysitting duties over to Mark so that she can surprise Arizona with a romantic evening; and Ben proves to Bailey that he knows her better than she thinks. Meanwhile, the ER fills with romantics, including a 10-year-old girl who has an allergic reaction to chocolates from her valentine and a man who is hit by a car while chasing down his frustrated girlfriend."

Grey's Anatomy Sneak Peeks: Seattle Grace Celebrates Valentine's Day in Episode 8.14

Grey's Anatomy is taking a slightly different route with this week's all new episode on February 2.  While putting Zola to bed, Meredith drifts off and starts to dream of an alternate reality for herself and her fellow Seattle Grace doctors.

It's all a question of "If/Then" in the episode.  For example, if Meredith mother's didn't have Alzheimer's and her parents were more supportive, then she would have turned out as a completely different person.  Meanwhile, if she had never met Derek in a bar, then the two of them wouldn't have gotten together and he would still have been with Addison (that's right, Kate Walsh is making a return guest appearance).  If Callie didn't meet Arizona at the time she did, then she would be with Owen.

Grey's Anatomy Sneak Peeks: What Would Life at Seattle Grace Be Like in an Alternate Reality?

A special "dream" episode of Grey's Anatomy will be airing on February 2.  Titled, "If/Then", former cast members Kate Walsh (now on Private Practice) and Kate Burton return to reprise their roles.

In the episode, Meredith is putting adopted daughter Zola to bed.  While drifting off herself, Meredith wonders how life might have turned out if things were different.  For example, what if her mother had never developed Alzheimer's and her parents have been supportive towards her?  If Meredith's life had been different, then everyone would have been affected.  The reverberations are numerous.  For example, she never actually met Derek in that bar and he is still with Addison.  Callie and Owen, meanwhile, had become a couple before Callie ever met Arizona.  And Bailey never grew out of her "meek intern" phase.

Grey's Anatomy Photo Preview: Take a Look at the Special "Dream" Episode

A lot of familiar faces will be making a guest appearance on tonight's all new episode of Grey's Anatomy.  Loretta Devine will be returning as Adele Webber, while Nia Vardalos ("My Big Fat Greek Wedding") and Peri Gilpin ("Frasier") will be making guest appearances as sisters.

In tonight's Grey's Anatomy, titled "Hope for the Hopeless", Richard will be performing his 10,000th (!) surgery on two bickering sisters (Vardalos and Gilpin) who come to Seattle Grace for a liver transplant.

Derek and Lexie work on a neuroblastoma case that had previously been considered inoperable.  Meanwhile, Teddy and Cristina get in trouble when they try to steal a case from Alex and Dr. McQueen, even against Owen's specific orders.  Meredith tries to figure out what her specialty will be and Adele is found wandering the streets and is brought into the hospital.

January 5, Episode 8.10 "Suddenly": A severe car crash involving an entire family results in an all-hands-on situation in the ER, as the eldest daughter is left to make the toughest decision of her life. Meanwhile Teddy, still in the dark about Henry's death, calls upon Cristina to help with her patient in the O.R., and Lexie finds herself working alongside Mark's new girlfriend, Julia, during an eye surgery.  Guest cast includes Scott Foley as Henry Burton, Jason George as Ben, Dylan Bruno as Griffin, Holley Fein as Julia, and Stella Maeve as Lily.

January 12, Episode 8.11 "This Magic Moment": The doctors split into teams for a risky surgery involving conjoined twins; Bailey recruits Meredith to be a buffer between her and Ben when he puts pressure on moving their relationship to a more serious level; Richard teaches Alex a tough lesson in the OR; meanwhile Teddy questions Cristina about what exactly happened to Henry during his surgery.

Grey's Anatomy January Spoilers: Teddy's Quest for Answers

Scott Foley makes a guest appearance on a new episode of Grey's Anatomy on November 10.  The episode, entitled Dark Was the Night", has Meredith and Derek getting their long-awaited news about Zola's future.

Henry is brought in for emergency surgery and Teddy is pulled away to work on another case, so she's forced to let her co-workers help her husband.  Callie and Jackson's patient experiences some post-surgery complications, which leaves them coming under fire.  Finally, Meredith and Alex have to travel to a nearby hospital to help a sick newborn but are involved in a life-threatening situation along the way.

Lexie gets jealous when she sees Mark with a new woman but tries to hide her rage over the situation.  Unfortunately, that only works for so long.  When it's suggested that Zola be moved to another hospital because of a conflict of interest involving Meredith and Derek, Alex fights to make sure the little girl can stay.  Finally, Richard admonishes Meredith and Bailey for their feud.

Grey's Anatomy Photos & Promo: The Doctors Play Ball in Episode 8.07

Lee Majors (Six Million Dollar Man) and Marilu Henner (Taxi) will both be making guest appearances on the October 20 episode of Grey's Anatomy.

The episode, entitled "Poker Face", will have Meredith trying to deal with the fact that she's been blackballed by the other surgeons.  So she'll have to get tricky in order to accomplish things.  For example, she uses Lexie to encourage Derek to help with her patient's rare brain tumor case.  She also secretly gives April advice about Bailey's clinical trial.

Meanwhile, Callie continues to hope that Arizona and Mark can become friends.  When they finally do become friends, she's actually more irritated than happy, since they gang up on her.  Cristina and Callie have to deal with an extremely difficult spinal surgery, while Teddy and Alex try to find alternative surgeries for a superficial patient.

Tonight on Grey's Anatomy: Sneak Peeks of Episode 8.03

In this week's episode of Grey's Anatomy, airing on September 29, the residents are tested with their first solo surgeries (view photos here).  But next week's episode, entitled "What Is It About Men" and airing on October 6, features comic books and male bonding.

First, the hospital emergency in the episode is a result of a stampede at a comic book convention.  The Seattle Grace doctors are taken aback at the "colorful characters" that are injured and brought into the ER.  Arizona and Callie go out of town during the episode and Mark's left in charge of taking care of baby Sofia.  At home, he shows a softer side, but at work he continues to give Jackson a hard time. Also, the male doctors will be bonding over their difficulty with women.

Meanwhile, Ben will be making a return appearance to the ER and he'll learn that Nurse Eli has moved in on Bailey.

Grey's Anatomy Photos: It's All About the Boys in Episode 8.04

Grey's Anatomy returned tonight with its eighth season premiere.  But we're already looking to the September 29 episode.

Episode 8.03 of Grey's Anatomy, entitled "Take the Lead", has the Chief making a shocking, career-changing decision.  The other employees of Seattle Grace Hospital are reeling after the choice is made.  Cristina and Owen try to live a normal day-to-day life with their relationship, while April continues to struggle in her new role.

But the big event in the episode is that the fifth year residents are assigned their first solo surgeries.  Of course, each of them learns a very important lesson during the surgeries: sometimes what's meant to be a completely routine procedure will be fraught with difficulties.

Grey's Anatomy Photo Preview: The Residents Are Tested in Episode 8.03

Grey's Anatomy returns for its eighth season with a special two-hour premiere on September 22.

Meredith will immediately have to deal with the aftermath of messing with Derek's clinical trials and will be fired by Seattle Grace.  A terrible strain will be put on their marriage.  Later, when Zola's adoption counselor learns of their problems, she's hesitant to approve of the adoption. Alex will have to deal with the fallout from ratting out Meredith.  The other doctors will be ostracizing him for being a snitch and turning in one of their own.

The residents will encounter a lot of injuries in the season 8 premiere after a giant sinkhole appears in Seattle and April will be tested in her new role as Chief Resident when the patients come flooding in.  Christina and Owen, meanwhile, still have differing feelings towards their baby and will have to deal with its impending birth.

ABC's Grey's Anatomy returns for its eighth season on Thursday, September 22 with a special two-hour episode.  Yesterday we posted spoilers for the first two episodes of the season (read more here).  Thanks to ABC, we now have photos and a sneak peek from the premiere.

In the premiere, Meredith is fired from Seattle Grace after interfering with Derek's clinical trial.  This leads to strife in Meredith and Derek's relationship.  When Zola's adoption counselor learns of this, she's hesitant to let the couple adopt the little girl.  Meredith also seems to take some drastic action with Zola, according to the sneak peek below.  Alex, meanwhile, is ostracized by the other doctors for snitching on Meredith.

April is tested in her new role as Chief Resident when the doctors have to help people injured in a giant sinkhole in Seattle.  Cristina and Owen still have to deal with the impending birth of their child (as well as their different feelings towards the baby).

Grey's Anatomy Photos & Sneak Peek: Season 8 Premiere

The eighth season of Grey's Anatomy will be premiering on Thursday, September 22 with a special two-hour episode.  Thanks to ABC, we've got details about the upcoming season premiere.

Episode 8.01 “Free Falling” (9:00-10:00 p.m.):  The fifth-year residents return to work for a year that could make or break their careers.  Meredith must suffer the consequences of her actions last season and will be terminated from Seattle Grace for tampering with Derek's clinical trial.  April, who has been appointed the new Chief Resident, will try to prove that she's worthy of the job as the residents deal with a giant sinkhole in the middle of Seattle.  Cristina and Owen's relationship continues to be tested as they are "still at odds over their drastically different feelings for their unborn child."

Guest stars for this episode includes: Mackenzie Astin as Danny, Amy Price-Francis as Susannah, and Robin Weigert as Karen.

Episode 8.02 "She's Gone" (10:00-11:00 p.m.): Meredith and Derek's relationship is currently unsteady after recent events and when news of this makes its way to Zola's adoption counselor, she wonders whether going through with the adoption is a good idea.  Alex is punished for ratting out Meredith when the rest of the group outcasts him for being a snitch. Teddy is alarmed when Chief Webber asks Henry to come in for a last minute surgery and Cristina is forced to make a tough decision about her pregnancy.
