Given that I am a spoiler-free fan and columnist, this brief preview of Grey's Anatomy does not contain any spoilers...

In my opinion, tomorrow night's episode of Grey's Anatomy, "No Good at Saying Sorry," signifies a return to the feel and flow of seasons past,  and not a moment too soon.  This episode manages to weave four main character narratives with two new patient stories rather effectively, drawing upon appropriate moments of levity, and more than the usual pull of the heartstrings.

To be frank, I've been less than thrilled with Izzie ever since she dated George.  As we witness her character heading toward the inevitable, however, I think that Katherine Heigl's performance is worthy of Emmy consideration. Side note:  I would actually love to see her put those dramatic chops to good use in an independent film rather than yet another romantic comedy.  Speaking of Emmy's...just throw Sharon Lawrence into the mix for a Guest Appearance statue right now; she is perfectly cast as Izzie's mother, and infuses just the right amount of mirth and depth into the unfortunate circumstances of their reunion.

By far, my favorite storyline this season has been Yang and Owen, and their interaction in this episode does not disappoint.  I am also relieved that the writers/producers have finally given Callie a sense of self and direction, and am endlessly entertained by her friendship with Sloan.

I will say this about the episode (without delving into spoiler-ish territory)...there are a few surprising and rewarding scenes involving the Grey girls and the Chief.

"No Good at Saying Sorry" airs on Thursday, April 30, at 9pm PST on ABC.

Agree with you 100%. I am a huge fan of Katherine Heigl's. She has been fantastic in portraying Izzie's illness and in the new episode is just brilliant. There are some great scenes with Sharon Lawrence. You might also be interested to know that Heigl has several dramatic movies lined up – so it won't be all rom coms :)
