Video – 4 Sneak Peeks from Grey's Anatomy 6.03 – "(I Always Feel Like) Somebody's Watching Me"

Even Seattle Grace is not immune to the economic woes that have gripped the country.  Could the doctors of Grey's Anatomy find themselves laid off?  Could the fictional economic woes mean Grey's Anatomy might be suffering some cast cut-backs in the near future?  A little bit on that, and four clips from this week's episode of Grey's Anatomy "I Always Feel Like Sombody's Watching Me" after the jump.

The layoff situation is not only topical, it serves the real life needs of the Grey's Anatomy cast as well.  Ellen Pompano is taking a break to spend some time with her brand new baby, and Katherine Heigl is taking a break to work on a movie.  No rumors so far as to whether or not any permanent cuts will be made to the cast, but it wouldn't be surprising.  Cast cuts are an effective bit of sensationalism, and they make for existentially tough story telling too – something the Grey's scribes don't shy away from.  Here is the official synopsis:

"I Always Feel Like Somebody's Watchin' Me" – Several weeks after her near-death experience, a recovering Izzie returns to work. Meanwhile, nervous that there will be layoffs in the hospital in the wake of an announcement from the Chief, the Seattle Grace residents compete to survive the cuts, including Cristina, who attempts to work alongside Arizona in pediatrics. And Bailey and Alex's patient's already complex case is further complicated by her schizophrenic son, on "Grey's Anatomy," THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network
