Hannibal: Gillian Anderson Will Appear in Multi-Episode Arc

Gillian AndersonThe NBC midseason drama Hannibal hasn’t even premiered yet, but it’s attracting a slew of talent.  The latest news (first reported by EW) is that former X-Files star Gillian Anderson has signed on to appear in a multi-episode arc.  Anderson will play the psychiatrist of Dr. Hannibal Lecter.

Hannibal stars as Mads Mikkelsen as Lecter and Hugh Dancy as Will Graham. Graham is a gifted criminal profiler who is searching for a series killer with the FBI and he has a particular penchant for empathizing even with psychopaths. But his current target is too crafty even for him so he enlists the help of Dr. Lecter. The two pair up to track down this killer, but only the audience knows that Lectoer is a serial killer as well. Laurence Fishburne and Caroline Dhavernas also star in the series.

There’s no word yet on when Hannibal will premiere.
