Much of this season of Hart of Dixie has been focused on the increasingly complicated love lives of the residents of BlueBell. There has been a fairly steady stream of hook ups, break ups, and make ups during the first 14 episodes of the season, with every couple currently on good terms and all major distractions to their relationships either muted or disposed of. It’s been a long road for everyone to get happy (and be happy at the same time), but for as many bumps and bruises as some of these couples have dealt with in their journey to contentment, they’re all still going. But which one of them is ready to go to the next level?
On the next episode of Hart of Dixie, one BlueBell couple has decided to take the plunge and it’s the one nobody expected to do so. In the middle of town, there looks to be a zombie invasion of “Thriller” proportions…set to the Kenny Rogers song “Islands in the Stream.” While everyone’s trying to figure out why there’s an undead flash mob in the middle of the night, a coffin opens to reveal Wanda, who proposes to Tom with his favorite song in the background. He had thought that she wanted to break up, even going to ask Lavon for advice to nearly ruined the proposal; it turns out that she was merely having trouble getting everything (the costumes, the smoke machine) together for the big moment. The two are arguably the quietest BlueBell couple, having gotten together last season and been stable ever since, but for one night, their love made the most noise.
Elsewhere on Hart of Dixie, Wade enters the Battle of the Bands to try and win money to open up his bar, while Lemon bonds with Magnolia during a lonely weekend at home.
What do you think about Wanda’s proposal? Are she and Tom the BlueBell couple you expected to take the plunge first? Which couple will be the next to take their relationship to another level?
