George R.R. Martin to Develop a New Show for HBO

It's likely going to be a long, long time until we see the end of Game of Thrones on HBO, because after all, even the BOOK series isn't done yet. But George RR Martin has realized that his future may in fact be in television after all.

The Game of Thrones author has signed on to develop a new series specifically for HBO, according to Deadline.

"Under the pact, Martin will continue as co-executive producer on Game Of Thrones, whose Season 3 premieres March 31. Additionally, he will develop and produce new series projects for the network. Attached to Martin’s upcoming HBO development is his long-time representative, manager Vince Gerardis. In addition to co-executive producing Game Of Thrones, Martin has written multiple episodes of the fantasy series"

Unfortunately for us, we have no details about what this project might be, and can only speculate. A Game of Thrones spin-off? Something fantasy-based? Something completely different than what we're expecting? I'm not sure.

What I do know is that this is probably a good thing for all parties involved, including us, the audience. What sort of show would you like to see out of Martin and HBO here?
