#3 — Lost
I can already hear your protests, but let me start off by saying that there is nothing wrong with Lost. It's one of the smartest, best television shows on today. And that's why it's going to be remade.
There's already been some talk that it might happen in the future; creator Damon Lindelof has already said that he'd be interested in seeing someone else's take on the iconic show. After all, V and The Prisoner were iconic shows to, but they were remade a few decades after they were broadcast, exposing them to a completely new audience.
A remake of Lost would most likely trim a little of the fat from the series; some of the second and third season seems a little unnecessary (Nikki and Paulo, "Stranger in a Strange Land," etc.). It could also give us an opportunity to see storylines develop that just didn't have a chance to this time around (Mr. Eko was originally plotted out to have a five-season arc, but was cut when his actor left due to personal commitments) .
Of course, that's not to say that it just wouldn't feel right to most of us die-hard Losties. Someone else in Ben's shoes? Someone else holding Locke's knife? Preposterous!
But in spite of all that, a remake of Lost would be both interesting to watch, but would more importantly expose the next generation of television watchers to the old series. And that's what a remake is supposed to do — the remake of V has already prompted me to go out and buy the original miniseries, and the premiere of the Prisoner was heralded by a DVD and Blu-Ray release of the original sixties series.
