Last night on Hell’s Kitchen, America watched as three contestants became two when Chef Gordon Ramsay eliminated Dana from the competition. The two remaining chefs, Justin and Christina, and even Chef Ramsay himself seemed genuinely sad to see her go, which isn’t a surprise considering her fun sense of humor, good work ethic, and not to mention those killer scallops she regularly delivered.
I had the chance to speak with Dana about her experience on Hell’s Kitchen to which she called it “a dream come true.” Despite her elimination on last night’s episode, she was very positive about her experience on the show and revealed that although Chef Ramsay is definitely just as intimidating in person as he is on TV, he is also “funny as hell and the nicest guy.”
Topping the list of some of Dana’s favorite moments from this season of Hell’s Kitchen were the times she won the challenges and got to see her dishes featured on the Hell’s Kitchen menu. Having the opportunity for “a Michelin star chef to taste your food and tell you it’s amazing” was something she was sure to not soon forget.
One aspect of the Hell’s Kitchen experience that Dana was less thrilled with was the drama that plagued the season. Although she managed to stay out of the major cat fights and avoid the dramatic spotlight, she still had to deal with the tension it caused on her team. The biggest offender according to Dana? She’d probably have to go with Robyn since things seemed to calm down and the others fell more in line once she was off of the red team, a fact that doesn’t come as a surprise at all to loyal viewers of the show.
When asked who she thought would win Hell’s Kitchen this season, the ever loyal friend declared that she was rooting for her in-house BFF, Christina, to whom Dana was picked first to be on her team for the final dinner service. She made no qualms that she was glad that she got to be on Team Christina for finale night declaring that she would have “tried [her] very best, but it would have been awkward” to be on Justin’s team.
As for the last question that I’m sure is on everyone’s minds, Dana assures me that David Beckham is even better looking in person than he is on television. She didn’t waste any time in reminding me that she was the lucky chosen one who got to serve Mr. Beckham during his visit to Hell’s Kitchen and she was very happy to share that he is as nice as he is handsome.
So what is next for Dana? She doesn’t have any firm plans yet for the future, but with the outpouring of love from fans and an even greater enthusiasm ignited for cooking and food after the Hell’s Kitchen experience, Dana would like to set her sights on television. “I have a really strong passion for food and cooking, and to be able to share that with everybody else is something I would really like to do.” With passion and talent like yours, Dana, I’m certain we’ll be seeing you again real soon.
The Hell’s Kitchen finale airs Monday at 8/7c on Fox.
